A year ago I would have said "Nope, Why the Hell would it be?", but for me these days I could honestly not imagine going to see a movie without someone I knew, and even just seeing one without having my girlfriend there to hold close would be odd to me.

So yes I guess? What a crime of a rhyme...

I've never found it weird. In fact, I've found it makes life easier. You never have to worry about someone else not wanting to see the film you're interested in, and you can go when it suits you. Win, win!

And if you're worried that others might think that going alone is anti-social, bugger em'. It all comes down to what you want, doesn't it?

No.

I wouldn't do it. But I don't like movies.

If someone said "I saw a movie" the last thing I care about is who they went with.

I prefer a movie with friends, but nothing really wrong with going alone.

OT: Well, yes and no. I felt weird when I went, but then again, I went to see a rom-com alone. (No Strings Attached, if you must know.) That felt weird.

I would imagine going to see something like Fright Night wouldn't feel weird at all. Anyway, I don't really think it's weird, but you might feel that way.

Well, I won't give it much thought when I see someone else sitting alone at the cinema but I'd never go alone myself, even if I actually want to see a particular movie but can't find anyone else who does. I don't really know why, it just feels weird.

For me, yes.
I find that weird.

But that's because I always go with other people.
Be it friend, family or girlfriend.

So yes, for me that would be really weird.

I have not gone by myself only because when people ask what are you doing Friday I say "well I am going to go and see (insert movie here)" and then they ask if I am going with anyone and if not can they join me.
I don't see it as weird to go by yourself.

Nothing weird at all. At this point, I almost exclusively go to the movies alone. I live 1,200 miles away from my family, and I have very few friends out here that I would go see a movie with (like, a grand total of maybe 3), and I often decide to go to the movies on a moment's notice.

I don't think there's anything wrong with it.

Not really. If it's something you've been looking forward to seeing but you can't find anyone to go with, there's no problem with it.
I might have to do it myself soon.

It's not really strange, I've done it before. If you think about it, you don't really talk very much during the film anyway. You will feel a bit awkward though, but don't let it stop you.

I've yet to try it. I very rarely see movies in the cinema and generally wait until it comes up on TV or DVD. Especially when most of the things I'd want to see will probably be older classics and in terms of film I don't have that much common ground with my friends and have fairly similar tastes to my dad and usually stay at home to watch something with him. If there was something that I desperately wanted to see at the cinema that I couldn't get anyone else to go with me, then I'd do it regardless of the wierd looks I'm bound to get.

Why should it? Really, why should it? Now you're going to tell me I can't entertain myself on my own? What about single player video games?

While I do enjoy going to the movies with friends, I would much rather go on my own and enjoy the movie, as opposed to dragging someone along who doesn't want to see the film in the first place, as I don't want to be sat next to someone who is sulking throughout the film. I don't find it strange if someone goes on their own.

No. If it's a movie that I want to see, i'm going and no one is stopping me, but I do prefer to see it with friends.

of course not. I always go with other people, but that's because I only go when I can con them into paying
