I've had this lingering urge lately to bust out my old PS2 to play some Blitzball on Final Fantasy 10, however, I don't have any saves on my old memory cards and so would have to replay most of the game to be able to play Blitzball. What do you think?

I personally spent almost half of my playing time playing Blitzball, partially to get all the items, partially because of the awesome music, and partially because I simply liked it as a change to the other tasks at hand in-game. (btw, my longest save has around... 260 hours clocked in it >_>)

My buddy played through X a couple of times when it came out, and he would play BB for days straight.

Well, seeing as whenever I pop FFX in nowadays then proceed to play Blitzball for about 2 hours straight, I'm gonna have to say no, it#'s not wrong.

I'd say do it, worse things to do with your time. Plus I think FF X is a brilliant game too, currently why I'm about 3/4 of the way through the story for the 4th time.

From someone who has virtually 100 percented that game, it is very very wrong to replay it for that.

Ugh. Blitzball.

The nightmares... I thought I had gotten rid of them...

Frankly, I think it's a terrible minigame. Seriously, it looked way cool in the cutscenes, but the actual game was boring and contrived.

Aw man... Blitzball... That "mini-game" was awesome. Everybody feared Ropp in my save file. Ropp to Tidus for the Jecht shot... dominant.

I'd buy a spin-off game of FFX's blitzball in a Madden type vein with franchise modes and such. (although less on yearly roster updates. Just a one time thing.)

I spent probably 10x as many hours playing Blitzball as i did playing the main story (and i actually liked FFX), so my answer is a most definite "No."

Ahhh, memories. Recruit Brother (Rikku's big brother), set him as mid-fielder, win every game.

All I do now on that game is Blitzball.

Infact, I think Square (whatever suffix they're using nowadays) could do really well just by making a blitzball game a la EA sports. I'd totally buy that.

Blitzball (gameplay-wise) was the weakest part of that game IMO. I think it was really cool though for the game story wise.

I personally dislike the sport. it was the subject of much irritation and I hope nothing of its caliber is ever seen again. You are, of course, welcome to do whatever you like.

Its totally not wrong, I personally enjoyed it as a mini-game but my brother loved it. He wasnt so big on the actual game of FFX mind, so it was the perfect combo. I would play the story and scout players for him, and he would play the blitzball and get items and stuff for me!

I actually enjoyed the blitzball games, even though they didnt make a lick of sense.

I ended up making an all girl team for.... scientific purposes.... yeah.
