Poll: Is it wrong to want to replay FFX just to play Blitzball?

I could never understand how the fuck Blitzball even worked. I swore the AI was broken.

[small]I also hate FFX with a burning passion so that might contribute...[/small]

I enjoyed Blitzball and Triple Triad.

So I don't see why not. It'd be neat to see both of those games fleshed out more and maybe released on their own as a downloadable title.

Wait, wait, wait... You actually get to play Blitzball!? I just thought it was something my character would keep doing outside of my control, awesome.

I have only recently started playing Final Fantasy X for the first time since I got given it along with a PS2 a while ago. I have to ask though, how long is this game!? I'm sure I've been playing it for hours and yet it feels like I've barely scratched the surface...

I fucking loved Blitzball, once you steal the better players from other teams it becomes a little to easy though.
I recently tried firing up FFX again just for this sole purpose, turns out the copy I have is bad and I can't get past the intro.

Not at all. I started it up for the same reason. Blitzball is amazing. It shouldn't even be called a mini-game!

Hell no. Blitzball was the best thing about FFX, and the rest of FFX is already pretty damn good.

Some people ask themselves if it's wrong to have sex with a 17-year-old.
Some others ask themselves if it's wrong to benefit from the suffering of other countries (example: child workers in Bangladesh get us cheap clothing)
Some other others ask themselves if it's wrong to eat animals.

...You ask us if it's wrong to start a video game to be able to play a certain part of it you enjoyed a lot again. No additional comment.

Considering I have probably played more blitzball than the actual game, no it is not.

It's long if you just do the story. And it's like really long if you dabble in side missions. And it's really fricking long if you try to do everything the game has to offer, like get all the best weapons, aeons, etc etc.

Needless to say, it will keep you occupied for a good two weeks at least.

I've had this lingering urge lately to bust out my old PS2 to play some Blitzball on Final Fantasy 10, however, I don't have any saves on my old memory cards and so would have to replay most of the game to be able to play Blitzball. What do you think?
Go for it, and make sure to get that really good female player right after the tourney, I can't remember her name but she's right outside the town/stadium and she is ridiculously good, and who knows, maybe you'll get lucky like my friend and trade goalies with the team from the tourney.

There was stuff to do in X besides Blitzball?

Of course not. I spent a fair amount of time playing Triple Triad in FF8. Good times.

The fact that you mentioned side-missions has worried me, because I haven't actually encountered any at this point in the game. I guess it really might take 2 weeks...

Ah well, there goes my study time.

The only trouble is, to get good characters you'll have to play through the majority of the game.

Not to mention pretty much finish the entire thing to get Wakka back. Some of the most fun to be had in that game was training all the original Aurochs to be unbeatable war machines - as long as you kept less than a full team and therefore the average level of your opposing teams down.

Shame that Blitzball went down the pan for FFX-2 really, with some proper effort I always thought it could become an entirely separate game - especially in today's era of downloadable games/iOS store.

The only thing I'll say though - I have bad memories of Venom Pass 3ing between my defenders and goalkeeper to build their levels up. Hours of it.

I think together with building all the Aeons to maximum stats (even Yojimbo's MP), collecting all the monsters, Celestial weapons and Blitzball FFX has one of the longest 100% paths in a Final Fantasy.

Part of me wishes I could go back to the days of not having a life and just being able to play games all the time.

It's up to you how to spend your time, buddy, but frankly, I think you'd be better off moving on to a different game. Or reading a book. Or doing ANYTHING else.

Just my opinion. I always thought Blitzball was "Uber Ghey".

I liked Blitzball, much better than any of those damn card games. Blitzball was hard at first, but when you signed a few decent players and Tidus learned his massively over-powered special shots, you became virtually unbeatable. Plus you could obtain some great items instead of just more cards.

So, yes i think it is worth replaying for Blitzball.

Off-topic. FFX was the last great Final Fantasy, which is another reason to play it again.
