What I want to know is, how does blitzball not collapse under it's own financial weight? I mean, if you have to generate a giant floating sphere of water, regardless of the laws of physics, your electricity bill must be huge. The smaller teams can't hope to compete, since they can't practice in the sea because of, you know, fish, so they can only book time in bigger stadiums which can only destroy their bank balances, what with the amount the owners of the stadiums will need to charge to ever hope of making money.

My only problem with blitzball is that it becomes too easy once you raise Tidus's endurance high enough to get off multiple Jetch shot's per half.

Wait, wait, wait... You actually get to play Blitzball!? I just thought it was something my character would keep doing outside of my control, awesome.

I have only recently started playing Final Fantasy X for the first time since I got given it along with a PS2 a while ago. I have to ask though, how long is this game!? I'm sure I've been playing it for hours and yet it feels like I've barely scratched the surface...
It's a loooooooong game, all though alot of it is grind, fun grind that presents itself well, but grind nontheless

I love Blitzball, I played it more than anything else in the game, I would spend $60 on a Blitzball video game.

The only problem is that you need to limit your own team because of how unbalanced everything is. Tidus's shots are insanely overpowered, anybody on the Al Bhed Pysches is a beast, Brother can swim twice as fast as anyone else in the game. It could use some work.

It's wrong to want to play Final Fantasy X, ESPECIALLY for Blitzball! For christ's sake, it's a turn-based sports game! I wanted an underwater EA sports game and I got Final Fantasy Tactics.

Blitzball is probably the best mini-game from any game ever. Play it. Play it now.

No. Just . . . No. Triple Triad is better, and I fucking hate Triple Triad.

Well, technically there aren't really side-quests per se. They are sort of hidden ones that you don't need to do, but if you don't do them or know of them, you'll miss out on kick ass equipment and summons. Plus it doesn't obviously tell you what to do to get said stuff, you have to sort of...stumble upon it, or look it up online.

By the way, where are you in the story exactly?
The part where you go with Yuna to a temple, then they say you can't go in, and then you get chucked in by some random other summoner's guardian anyway.

I haven't noticed anything resembling a side quest, and I've been conditioned to go down every path and talk to every person by years of gaming, so I don't think I've missed much.

I believe that's what I would refer to as "right at the start"

No... you're not wrong to like something just because others don't like said thing... I myself enjoy many things that others find repugnant... but... blitzball? Seriously? I made a point to avoid that horrible minigame as I made my way through the last semi-playable game in the Final Fantasy franchise.

I'm not judging here, though. Some people love modern pop music. Some of those people are even intelligent. Knock yourself out.

Blitzball and the combat system were the only two things I liked about that game -- I didn't even like the music, which sounds like a bunch of slightly altered Christmas carols to me. But I absolutely loved Blitzball, to the point that I hoped Squeenix would release a Madden style standalone Blitzball game. Sadly, that never happened, but I can't be the only person who would have bought a copy.

Note: I like JRPGs, FFX just didn't click with me.

I dislike the Final Fantasy series, but whether or not someone enjoys it is subjective and you shouldn't feel ashamed about getting enjoyment out of the products you have purchased specifically to amuse you.

It firstly depends on what version you got, the original had a massive single player that ended really well. The EU version had extra stuff to do, like the dark Aeons, which are hard to beat.

There not as hard as penance and omega though.

The game takes about 100 hours, especially with certian bosses and doing puzzles 100% correct. (you can get passed puzzles AKA cloister of trails without 100% completing them and you really want to 100% them, trust me).

This topic is really making me want to play it.

On topic. I loved BB but some times it took the piss a little bit. They would get passes and shots pass that shouldn't and I would get blocked nearly all the time I should have got passed.

I loved getting the guado's and speeding round to kite the enemy, pass to Tidus to finish it off.
