Do you guys think love is more between two people who are very similar in interests, or that old 'opposites attract'?

They say opposites attract.
But I don't think will stay together for long.
I'm going with ++

I'd say that its more about people who are similar. Any girl who plays video games, for example, gets instant win points.

In the outside world, I have no idea.

A wise man once said: "Opposites attract for one night stands."

That wise man was me. Can I have a cookie? =)

I'd say ++, but I also believe that two people need to have some differences...

Is it bad that when I read the title I thought "love incremented by one after this function finishes"?

Anyways, I have no idea.

I think there needs to be a good balance. Two people in love need something in common without too much to keep things interesting.

But given just the two similar people would be better than opposites because usually people with things in common just get along better.

For the most part I'd say that it's a ++ deal, because people enjoy being in relationships with people that understand them the best, and people with similar interests have an easier time with that.

+- relationships have been known to work though.

I would argue ++. Typically a couple shares similar interests and discover they get along with each other.

While it's possible for opposites to love each other as well, I would say that it's tougher to find that common ground.

+-, if your ++ you will eventually just get bored, since you will have same opinion you will have few things to argue about. But it all comes down to the couple and if they want to make it work.

I believe couples should have the same characteristics (+,+) while having unlike interests (+,-). Especially if it's two people who share the characteristic of loving to argue.

Iam going with opposites attract on this. It really is all down to the individual couple but if two people have everything in common things can get boreing fast.

The true answer is ≈≈. They should be similar, but not quite the same.

Where's the option for depends on the couple or a mixture?
I'd say a mixture myself, since I'd like my partner to have similar interests but they'd have to be rather different, since being the same would be boring and possibly creepy.

I'd say it doesn't matter. All sorts of people have married other people, whether they be similar or completely different.

That being said, I always find it easier to be around someone who agrees with everything I say. But then again, if someone thought almost exactly like you did, wouldn't it feel like you're dating your mental clone?
