I've been with girls that are almost my mirror image as far as personality and likes. And I have been with girls that couldn't find a single thing we had in common to save her life. Neither of these however influenced how well we got along or how I felt about them. In the end it always came down to whether or not we got tired of one another or not.

People need to have more in common than not, obviously, but being exactly the same is too dull, I guess. They need to be similar, but not the same.

Of course, I don't know about this stuff.

Considering my limited experience (read: none) in the field of love, I don't think I'm qualified. I would not be interested in a girl who's very opposite of what I think, though: wouldn't that just lead to never-ending arguments?

Similarities are a good foundation for lasting relationships I guess, but there are alot of traits in women that I find attractive that I don't posess (personality wise ) confidence is a huge one for me confident women instantly rank higher up than others.

To elaborate, i think that if your too similar you will get bored of each other, but if your too opposite you will find yourself conflicting constantly, which will stress any relation to a breaking point if it happens too often.

It's called creating tension, or in a relationship sexual tension. Which is a driving force for attraction, which in turn is probably one of the most powerful feelings any person could have.

I've never heard of a relationship that like arguing.

I argue with my girlfriend all the time, but it's not really arguing. I don't know what it is.

The reason I get alone so well with her, is we have almost exactly the same interests and aspirations.

We've been going out for 5 years so far, and are very happy together. That's why I voted for ++.
