Really? Hardcore is the most rhythmic music? Really?
OMFG!!!! Have you ever listened to it? It is truly inspiring music. Most people mistake Hardcore as a metal genre... it isn't. It plays perfect 4/4 count with fourth rest and nothing else. If it uses another timing structure it isn't hardcore.

Listen to that sound, it is the definition of metalcore (Hardcore with Death metal vocals and I use Kingston Falls because they are the most technical hardcore band... they never break the rules). If that is not rhythmic, then I worry about this world... I understand that without an understanding of the genre it sounds a bit random, but it is not at all. They have more beat than any rapper.

Also, 2 step was invented by the hardcore scene with the signature beat, kick kick snare rest. kick kick snare rest. And is a derrivative of skanking from Ska, which is a form of swing dancing... sorry I am a music buff... I love it. I only do computers because the pay is better, lol.
Metalcore is the most rhythmic and inspiring music? I just played Earth Crisis' In Ashes, which, as I understand, is metalcore. It made the exact same sound the train makes when it's going over a broken segment of rails. If you're looking for technical music, listen to Bach.

Then again, I'm trying to reason with someone who thinks literature isn't art...

I'd have thought someone who runs a music production company would be able to provide a proper example of rhythmic music, and wouldn't use the phrase OMFG!!!
Ok... you are truly weirding me out... Bach uses a combo of 4/4 and 3/4 as well as 2/3 timings... he does not write rhythmic music, he writes complicated music. Don't get me wrong it is great. Also, I did not say it was the most inspiring I said it was "Truly Inspiring" and to me technicality and perfect sync is truly ispirational. And who cares if I use omfg... really? It actually makes sense that I would use younger language as I need to relate to those I am managing. That is a good business model; relate to your clients and know what they think before they think it.

Literature is seperate from art in my opinion, and I think that art has been diluted heavily to mean "I can do whatever I want and say its great". Literature is a great think I and I enjoy it, but I think it needs its own catagory as it has so much going into it. Music only has about half the input that literature does, and as a result I would say that Music is a sub-genre of art, whereas literature is its own genre.

Finally, did you even bother to go to the music I provided? I gave you a direct link to one of the original Metalcore bands. If you cannot hear the beat and the guitar tandem-play then you are deaf, and I wash my hands of this debate. Also, Earth Crisis' is a Heavy Metal band with breakdowns, not a Metalcore Band... And Heavy metal has no structure, and I am aware of this and I don't listen to much metal.
