I've been playing New Vegas for a while now and i think it just should of been an expansion at a lower price not a full priced game.

New Vegas is just basically Fallout 3

cept

the map is smaller

the bugs are back

mod arent out for it

and there no liberty prime ...yet

Oh god your spelling DX

Also you could say that for any sequel:
Hurr durr Bioshock 2 should have been a DLC

If you don't like it sell it or deal with it.

Also it was just released so of course there are bugs and no mods out, mods TAKE TIME!!!

I was under the impression the world was bigger, i havn't played it yet, but how can you rip off a game that is your predecessor, Dosn't that mean any sequal is a rip-off.

No. Just no. Nothing is a rip off of anything.

The map is smaller, big whoop, I bet it isn't noticeable.

Of course, it's a Bethesda engine they are using, I believe. And Obsidian have the reputation for making buggy games as well. It would also explain why it feels like it's basically F3

It's only just come out, give them a bloody chance.

And Liberty Prime was a load of shit in Fallout 3 in my eyes. [footnote]*Hides in Vault*[/footnote]

And also that. Nearly every sequel is an expansion pack to me.

I didn't buy it. And I don't plan on buying it either. I couldn't even play Fallout 3. No matter what I did, patch, reinstallation of OS, installation of Windows 7, known fixes etc. nothing worked. The game kept freezing in interiors.

no, it isn't. if you don't like it, trade it in , send it to ebay, or donate it to someone who could use the fun.

People must be playing a different game then me. It's buggy, but other then that, the combat feels better, there is actually variety in the conversations (i.e. Not talking to the same person every other NPC), the atmosphere is different, they added new weapons, perks, etc.

Feels like a sequel to me, that I actually am enjoying more then Fallout 3. Plus, the gratuitous amounts of fanservice they have in the game towards the original 2 Fallout games makes me squeal with glee.

this. honestly i dont notice a map size difference, hell it takes me alot longer to get to some places than it did in fallout 3 (not positive on that but it sure feels like it sometimes)

honestly this is a major upgrade to fallout 3 in every way, imo

Fallout New Vegas is a ripoff of Fallout 3?

Kinda like Bad Company 2 being a ripoff of Bad Comapny 1?

I noticed this too. I assume it's because they have a lot larger mountains and whatnot that you have to walk around rather then over like you could in Fallout 3. Seems like the terrain causes natural paths that you have to follow, making trips take a bit longer.

so you don't end up finishing the game and saying "WTF? I haven't discovered half the map"
Funnily enough that's EXACTLY what I said in Fallout 3.
I haven't played it yet (It's arriving tomorrow or friday) But I think I can handle the bugs, and besides the patches will eventually come out.....wont they???

You're just bitching 'cause there was no real engine or graphics update. But who says every sequel needs that? Fallout 2 was basically just a new adventure in the old engine, without any changes to the mechanics, just in an entirely different style. As long as it doesn't have way less content than Fallout 3, there's no reason to be upset. Except for the bugs of course, that is a *****, but hey, it's Obsidian, what did we expect? It's Black Isle and Troika Games all over again: Great writers, terrible programmers.

But no, the full price is totally justified.

I am getting New Vegas this afternoon (Australian Release) and I can safely say with all I know of it, it is a sequel. New Vegas is a spin off sequel like what GTA Vice City was to GTA 3. If you don't like this game go an sell it.

I'm glad I don't need to write all this when this guy said it for me.

The biggest issue I have with it is that you can't carry on after you complete the main quest.
They fixed this with Broken Steel in Fallout 3. But why did they have to make the same mistake twice? -_-

Probably not, but because they're repeating the same problems of the original, it sort of feels that way. Also I heard about not being able to continue after the ending. Which means they're going to release some sort of dlc with a "proper" ending and free roam after the credits. Isn't that a rip off?

I found it to be one, extremely well voiced, large mod.

'cept you had to pay 40 quid for it.
