Majora's Mask a rip off of Ocarina of Time?
OH MY GOD THEY'RE THE SAME GAME EXACTLY! HOW DID I NOT NOTICE TILL NOW! HOW CREATIVELY BANKRUPT AND LAZY!

For serious though, I think the premise of this thread deserves a nice round of /facepalm.

Yeah, it kinda is.

Doesn't mean it's not fun though, and it does do a little more to be original than the next recycling of console first-person shooters.

Your complaining about a game which cuts out Usless map space which did nothing and has no mods before it even gets to Europe? I have no time for such nonsence.

I did notice the map was a little lacking, however. I have played it for two hours last night and I must say it is completely different. It feels like a sequal even though alot of things haven't been changed (the HUD, UI)and the aiming is waaaaaaay better. It feels different which is because Bethesda didn't work on it and I feel that's a good thing. The bugs, I must agree about the bugs. Not an hour and a half in did one of my targets get stuck in the ground, couldn't shoot, and when he died he took everything with him by falling through the ground.

Well that's fine, I have no problem thinking of it as a $60 expansion. All new characters, settings and voice acting, new features, new weapons, crafting, new companions...

Yep, $60 expansion, well worth my money.

Pretty much where I sit, it's a $60 Expansion with better writing, better voice acting, more guns and dozens of hours of new content...

Worth paying for in my opinion but it definitely loses points on originality... whoopedy doo.

The biggest issue I have with it is that you can't carry on after you complete the main quest.
They fixed this with Broken Steel in Fallout 3. But why did they have to make the same mistake twice? -_-
The official reasoning behind this was, as I've already seen bits of already, that there are a LOT of major changes to the world after you beat the game. They wanted the changes to feel major, and that would be undermined if in the ending they say "and so-and-so city was razed to the ground by the Angry Gecko Coalition", then the game continues, you go to the city, and find everything peachy.

If it were a rip-off then the story and characters would be similar and it'd be set in a similar location.

All characters are new.
The location is entirely different.
The story is entirely different.

Oh, and the map size is the same as Fallout 3's, we were told that before it was even released.

It is not a ripoff. It is made from the same company for the same series. You don't even deserve the title of fan if you go around insulting a Fallout game. And in case you didn't realize, the map is a very similar size to its predecessor. You honestly didn't even try to put of a valid argument. Next time you want to complain about something, get a real reason.

No, pretty much. There's too much more of it to be considered as any kind of expansion. That, and you'd need a lot of room to put this kind of "DLC" on it.

Oh god your spelling DX

Also you could say that for any sequel:
Hurr durr Bioshock 2 should have been a DLC

If you don't like it sell it or deal with it.

Also it was just released so of course there are bugs and no mods out, mods TAKE TIME!!!
I think, possibly, his point is the similarity of the games in the area of gameplay - opposed to like "IT LOOKS THE SAME HURRR". And it's true, the two games are really fucking similar.

That doesn't mean it's bad, I'm not saying that (I rather like it myself). Just don't go all out on the guy when he's attempting, and by the looks of it failing, to try and get a point across. The hostility is not needed.

I wasnt all that impressed with fallout 3 anyways. Soon as i saw how similar Vegas was, i decided not to look into it. It looks more or less like an expansion pack so meeeh :p

I was under the impression the world was bigger, i havn't played it yet, but how can you rip off a game that is your predecessor, Dosn't that mean any sequal is a rip-off.
he meant rip off as in not worth the price. Not rip-off as in stolen material.
OT: i don't really know, never played either game, but i tend to agree with you from what I've heard.

Considering that they just added new stuff and didn't bother to fix the old bugs. I'd say it could have been an expansion.
