When a game is actually good, I feel like pressing my face to the screen.

I play console games on the couch.

Just because you're too lazy to sit doesn't mean PC gaming is uncomfortable. I never lay down when I play on consoles either so it's a personal preference not a fact. Treat it as such.

It's all in the chair and monitor height, Also the distance between your right and left hands on the keyboard and mouse.

For instance, My neck is on fire, Because I was a moron and bought a desk with a built in monitor stand... I'm removing it shortly.

Chair with a neck rest is a must, Another thing I don't currently have.

Why not just hook up your PC to TV/controller... then it's the same fucking thing as console. Fuck, I wish people would get over the whole 'hunched over a keyboard in a highback chair' image of PC gaming...

I'm more comfortable with my PC because my PC and PS3 are in the same room, connected to the same monitor. I sit in the same spot. I'm just a nerd and am much happier with a machine I've picked out for myself that outperforms the shit out of the PS3. I like numbers.

Most modern TVs have bloody DVI ports too and have HDMI and optical ports too for sound if you like. Any random wireless mouse and keyboard combo and you're in the exact same situation, comfort wise.
Yup, not to mention Windows has 360 controller support, which has pretty much become a standard control set-up in PC games.

Yes. FRAK YES.

But that's just me, if you prefer not to, I'm fine with it, but I would advise you to give it a try at least (which is seems you have, from your post), so you can see for sure if it's your thing or not.

Hell if you prefered using a purple squirrel instead of a mouse or pad, I'd be supportive too (except in that case, I would also be curious about how the i/o API of purples squirrels works).

By the way, not to make any advertisement, but you could give those a try if you want to play from a sofa: http://en.lounge-tek.com

Gotta agree. My PC is vastly more powerful than my Xbox. And while improved graphics and improved functionality due to a keyboard is nice, I'd just rather kick back with a controller. Contrary to popular belief, PCs aren't always the best way to play games. I've been a PC gamer for many years, but WoW aside, I'd much rather play my games on a 360. Though some people believe a controller limits you, I've always found a controller to be more comfortable. My mind seems to implode if I have to press any more buttons other than QWASDER 12345, which with most modern PC games, is a common thing.

Uncomfortable? How so?

I play on my bed when I hook my PC up to the TV with a cheapass cable and then either put my mouse and keyboard on it or plug a controller (360, PS3, 3rd party, or even Wii) in.

I understand where the OP is coming from, being someone who likes to lay sideways (I use another chair as a footrest) when playing point-and-click games myself. I find changing positions and taking the occasional break (which I do anyway) works fine, though.

I thought this thread was gonna be about upgrading and technical aspects, to which I'd respond that PC gaming only requires pretty basic tech skills (which in turn are largely googling), something you should have or develop anyways.

Im deeply uncomfortable in my soft suede leather tilt back swivel chair, with its massage unit & heater.

Also the well chosen keyboard with a meaty key stroke and sizeable keys go well with my custom weighted & alternative shelled mouse.

OP is a dullard. I wont even go into the use of monitor as opposed to a TV screen in regards to eye strain.

my question is,what discomfort? is the human race really becoming so lazy that we cant even sit in a chair without going "geez, sitting in this chair is hard work. i need to lay down". i thought sitting down was to get off your feet,so your feet can rest.

but no,there isnt any discomfort and there shouldnt be any...unless your chair is made of solid oak or something...

I hate sitting in chairs. I find it uncomfortable to the point of being extremely annoying. When I'm annoyed, I'm not having fun.

I really just hate sitting.

I actually find it to be more uncomfortable to lie down. I have to support myself on my elbows so I can be upright enough to see the screen, so it puts unnecessary strain on my shoulders, arms, and back. If ever I'm using a console I'm always sitting up.
