That's nearly a non sequitur. Are you claiming that Latinos can't be racist or that minorities can't be racist? Or is my sarcasm detector MIA here?
I'm saying it's really really hard to be racist when there is no majority.
Look harder.
60% Latino does not constitute a majority, as that counts white hispanics and non-white hispanics.
What?

Not in Thailand, but we,as in:me and a lot of people, tends to not to get too close to Negro or/and Arab due to their "extreme" odor.

Even that said,i think they are fine people and cool to hang out with,in fact there is this one particular Negro who's one of the most successful slapstick comedian.

I don't know there are some days I don't think so, but then there are others where some kid right next to me in art class today openly said he thinks all black people look the same, and refer to a kid as a "fuckin Reecan" with the 3 girls he was discussing it with agreeing with him.

Just a side question though to all those people who said that they don't see much racism where they live: Is there a large percentage of minorities living in your area? I believe it might have something to do with how much racism there is.
I used to live in a very small town in Tennessee where everybody was white except for a couple of Asian and Hispanic families. Everyone was theoretically racist but in practice there was nobody to be racist to. When some black people finally moved into town in my high school days they were such a novelty nobody even knew how to act.

I've lived in Memphis, Tennessee, which is majority black and the white minority is really openly racist.

Now I live in Osaka which is the prefecture of Japan with the most foreigners (and even that isn't saying much). Racism here is special. People have all kinds of ideas about whites, blacks, other Asians, etc. and can't be told differently.

My experience then is that throwing a bunch of people of different colors together does NOT reduce racism.

http://www.nymbp.org/reference/WhitePrivilege.pdf This paper here is an awesome resource for learning about race relations. It contains a simple checklist. If you agree with most of the statements in it, you're either living in a non-racist society or you're a member of the preferred race. If you disagree with most of the statements in it, you're a member of the non-preferred race in your society. I've lived in both sets of conditions.
I figure that for the most part racism will usually pop up after a significant number of people from a minority live in an area. The reason why I think that racism was (and still is to some extent) so prevalent in the American South and not the rest of the US is because compared to some areas of the South where blacks were actually in the majority, there were very little people of other races living throughout the North and West. This made the "Black problem" (this being the views of whites at the time) more important to those in the South than the rest of the US. I imagine that it is common in other areas of the world as well. A small number of people of a minority may provoke interest. When this increases past a certain point, racial tensions begin to arise. Since in my area there aren't many African Americans or Asian Americans or other minorities besides Latin Americans, there isn't much racism that I've seen. But since there is a decent Latino population in my area, I wouldn't be surprised if there were some racism towards them by some people. I haven't seen or heard of it though, so if there is it isn't very rampant.

Not that I'm aware of. ...well people tend to look down on the Huterites, but other than that, no. Besides, I think that tends to go both ways.

A couple of things.
Here in Australia I've noticed over the years that race ususlly only becomes an issue when the media hypes up any given topic and inflames usually ill informed public opinion. They tend to scare-monger rather that inform.

Also we've had multicultural immigration for years and yet we come off as one of the most racist countries on Earth.

You've obviously never heard of the race issues we have in the US. XD

In all seriousness though, I think it's similar here in the US. We have some areas where racism is the norm, but they're slowly dying out. I think a lot of it comes down to socio-economic standing rather than race. At least here in the US, and my opinion anyway.

Not in the slightest. For one, my entire town consists of 3400 hippies and 100 Buddhists and for another, I swear we have exactly 1 black person in the entire town.

There is pretty much racism everywhere. But because it happens so often, it's become an everyday thing rather then an issue.

Racism is a problem where i used to live, especially in my high school, which was the Northwest Florida AKA L.A (lower Alabama)since it was full of snobby rich white people and dumb rednecks. As one of the few minorities and especially for being Muslim i was always a hate target. But now I live in Central Florida, it's a lot better here.

If I had been talking about that in any way no doubt you'd be keeping up quite well. Instead let me try once more:

Whether there is a majority present in a society or not and who that majority is has no real bearing on whether it's "hard to be racist." Plenty of racists happen to be the minority in their neighborhood or city or whatever sized unit you want to name. If you don't think there's racism in LA you need to look harder for the racism that certainly is present.

I promise if you look harder you'll find that white people hate black people, black people hate white people, white hispanics hate mestizos and vice versa, Koreans hate Chinese people, and anybody who feels that way and is in a position of power is using that power to make life miserable for someone else.

I live deep in the valleys in Wales, if your Black/Asian and aren't owning a shop your not welcome, it's really bad and don't understand where it's all come from.

I've yet to see any real racism here, but I'd agree that if it was anywhere, it'd be in the downtown area.

Let's see. Surrounded by the Arab countries and terror groups that routinely try to "wipe out the Jews". So, yeah.

There's a lot of tension between whites and Hispanics in northern Nevada---especially since the big Immigration raid on the local McDonald's franchise a couple years back. Everyone had to go a week without McDonald's food while the owner (or more accurately, the owner's son, since the owner was himself arrested) had to find legal help.

There was a huge protest a couple of weeks later about civil rights and an even bigger counter-protest to the effect of "They're takin' our JERBS!"

Racial epithets are spoken openly and there are plenty of whites who are like "some of my best friends are Mexican"---some of those "best friends" being from Guatemala, El Salvador, or (shades of Sharron Angle) the Philippines.

In the San Francisco Bay Area (CA, US) every square mile is different. In my neighborhood, no one cares. Two miles down you'd get shot for walking down the wrong street if you aren't Mexican.
