There near the door right now.

I think soon they will be eaten up by another developer and be made to mkae crap games for them soon.

All I know is I cant remember them releasing anything huge during the last few years, I think there glory days are far behind them now.

They're dying. I hated Perfect Dark Zero and I'm not even bothering with Nuts 'n' Bolts, it hardly looks like the original Banjo-Kazooie games I loved.
As long as you liked perfect dark you are cool, I also hated perfect dark zero.
*nerd rage on hair trigger*
If some random person on the internet doesn't agree with my opion...

I vote dead. Stone cold and no pulse means dead right?

They died after Star Fox Adventures on the Gamecube (which I lurved) in my opinion. That Banjo Kazooie abomination for the 360 was one of the worst games I've ever played, and Perfect Dark Zero was the very definition of 'meh'.

Everything on the N64 was great though. Especially Conker.

You will be missed, dear friend
I KNOW WHAT YOUR FUCKING DAUGHTER DID!

And who could forget context-sensitive buttons!

Did you ever play the Xbox remake? It was great, if you haven't.
Yup, but I still consider the N64 game superior.
Agreed.
I still can't believe they were able to get away with censoring the Great Mighty Poo on the 360 =(

Dark days when the Nintendo version has more adult content than the Microsoft version. =3

They've been dieing for a while now. They did very well during the N64 era, but that was a simpler time and Rare isn't transitioning well. Action/platformers are a dieing breed of game and Rare is going with them.

Dead. Since Rare was sold to Microsoft, most of the original developers (I'm talking the N64 glory days here) left. They founded Free Radical, who developed TimeSplitters. Although think FR may also be dying.

I remember Nintendo refused to publish Conker on the N64, so someone else had to do it. I can't remember who then. And I agree, they castrated the Xbox version, which is why I prefer the N64 one so much more.
Lol, yeah.

That reminds me though.. What on earth were they thinking with the multiplayer in the 360 version? I want all my N64 game modes! Castrated indeed.

Considering the only thing of note they've done since Starfox Adventures is the Viva Pinata games, and everything else has been dodgy sequels or ports, bar Kameo (spelling?), which won't be remembered, I'd say they're on their last legs. If Kinect Sports flops, I wouldn't be surprised if Microsoft renamed them Avatars, Inc.

The last game they made worth playing was Starfox Adventures, that was merely good, hardly great.

Since then it's been remakes, hashed up sequels and two games based primarily on gardening. Dead, buried, the paint's worn off the memorial.
HEY! The Viva Pinata games are good, perhaps within touching distance of great. I agree though, they are dying. Conker is one of my favourite ever games. They should release the N64 one (the one with all the swearing in, with little censoring) on XBLA, and get back to making amazing games again, instead of being stuck with Avatar and Kinect bullshit.

Perfect Dark Zero stuck a knife in their back, and now they slowly bleed to death, the wait to their demise prolonged by the grim little hospital that is Microsoft, forcing them to attempt to continue doing their job, even though they fucking can't, because "Rare" no longer exist.

It's such a shame.
RIP.

In the famous words of Church "Hurk, Bleh!" I'll admit Rare had some stellar games in it's prime, but no more.

They've pretty much been dead since the last console generation. I don't know what happened but they just burnt out and made crappy games all of a sudden. Hell, they couldn't even do Banjo Kazooie justice in the 360 game.

It's especially mind boggling seeing as this wasn't just a company that made good games, this company basically owned the N64. There were more games worth playing by Rare on the N64 then by Nintendo. GoldenEye, Banjo Kazooie, Blast Corps, Banjo Tooie, DK 64, Conker, Jet Force Gemini, Perfect Dark & Diddy Kong Racing all were games that were great at their time, and now that I think about it, all these games have a shitload of replay value.

R.I.P. Rare

They died the second they were bought by Microsoft.

Also, Banjo-Kazooie/Tooie were two of the greatest platformers ever, and Goldeneye revolutionized first person shooters, and the Donkey Kong Country games are probably some of the best 2D platformers ever. Now Rare is developing Kinect Sports. Palms everywhere proceeded to hit faces.
