Poll: Is Sims 3 worth buying?

The first Sims games was one of the first games I ever played and adored it. I never got to play The Sims 2, so I can't make the assumption that Sims 3 is better than Sims 2.

Plus I heard it's now playable on the Mac, which is tempting. Should I buy it?

Sims 2 was okay

Sims 1 will always hold that special nostalgic place in my heart that people usually find Mario or something

I have and yes it is much better, if only because you have a larger sims world.

Click on the forum button at the top of the screen. It will bring you to a section with gaming discussion, off-topic etc. One of those will be user reviews. The sims 3 one should be on the first page of that. Don't just press the topic index button that will just take you back on step.

I've been wondering the same, Hopeing I have a good enough grafics card to handle it.

It's very entertaining. It doesn't deviate far from the original Sims formula. The biggest change is the open city where everyone lives their lives and progresses in life while you play with your selected family (important note: you can turn this off). Your sims are even more goal oriented than before. Building houses is also as entertaining as usual, and a small little addition, being able to place furniture in 8 different directions instead of 4, gives you a lot more options for indoor design.
Bottom-line: if you enjoyed the previous installments, this one won't let you down.

Since you liked the first The Sims, I say yes, it's worth getting.
