Okay, so I was playing a game of hardcore search and destroy in COD4 earlier, when the bomb was planted and all opposing players were killed.

So I ran to the bomb, but there were two people there already so I stood a bit away and watched as the first started to diffuse the bomb. But before he diffused it, the second player killed him to get the bomb for himself.

So I decided this person didn't deserve the points and lazily sprayed him with bullets and diffused the bomb myself. So he ended up with -50 points for his troubles, and I gained 50 for being such an upstanding citizen and all. =D

So.......do you think it was the right thing to do, or was I just as bad as the other guy?

You did the right thing.

A douchbag is a douchbag no matter what colors he is wearing.

He deserved it. Teamkilling a teamkiller is not perfect - like vigilantism,it's a half-assed measure for when you must act NOW. It's not perfect, but it works.

In this case, you're fine. If I had been that first guy who got killed, I wouldn't have wanted to see my douchebag killer get the bomb.

If I was you, I would have also sent that guy (who got killed first) a message later ala "I got your back" or something.

Nice analogy.

Nothing wrong with administering your own sense of justice against the greedy. I can see why some would argue you're just as bad, but I'm of the mentality of "you kill wrongfully, you should be killed to prevent further misdeeds." I hope that helps in either case.

This.
That person deserved what he got (in this case a few bullets and some negative points).

Yeah it's not a bad thing to do but it can back fire.

I forget which game it was but someone had killed one of our team mates for whatever reasons. I then noticed this and killed the team killer. Unfortunately someone else did not see the original incident but saw what I did and killed me for thinking I was a team killer. It ended up with the team butchering each other all out.

Fun times.

I can agree with that. It's lowering yourself slightly, but nowhere near his level and letting him continue would have been worse.

Right now, I`d say that you did the right thing but be careful not to start taking things into your own hands because some people might think your a dick trying to take over the team. Trust me, this has happened before and I was on the team. We killed him. Many times.

Well I guess that was unfortunate......maybe headsets would be a good idea in those situations. =]

An eye for an eye eh, I'm usually one for more creative forms of revenge. This is too simple.

There's only so many ways you can be creative in a game.

What kind of thing are you thinking of?
