He deserved it.

The difference between you two (from what you wrote) is that you wouldn't normally do it. You only did it to punish someone being a dick, he did it to get the points. Thats what makes the difference.

You did the right thing in this case, but sometimes that's not the best idea. While teamkilling a teamkiller does impede their ability to kill other teammates for a short time, it may also start a feud between you and the teamkiller. That teamkiller may then focus all of their efforts on you and ruin your experience. I've had that happen to me numerous times.

Sometimes teamkillers will also spam the chat if you do anything to stop them. That's especially bad if they have a mic. I've had teamkillers spam mics quite a bit too.

Teamkillers are pretty much the scum of the earth.

I've often found it better to vote-kick them as quickly as possible if it is an option. If you aren't on a good server, then my God have mercy on yout soul.

In the OP circumstances I think an extra option is required; no it's not justice they should be removed from the game but you made the best of the situation by denying him the points for good intentions.

Though to clarify if a team kill is accidental and unmalicious and they genuinely apologise then I would think it fine to leave them be.

I don't think it was the right thing to do, kicking would be better. Either leave the revenge to the player that got killed or vote to kick him. You also might have a problem because someone might not have noticed the first incident and kicks you for the second one. (Someone in power)

Maybe in other games, but I don't think you can vote to kick in COD, and he would have earned the points by the time the vote had gone through anyway. I probably should have mentioned it was the last round of the game and diffusing the bomb ends the round.

Yeah I agree, if the kill had happened at any other stage than the diffusing part of the round, I wouldn't have bothered, as the person wouldn't have gained anything from their teamkill anyway.

Sorry, I didn't know that. Still a game in nothing to get angry about. Do we have to break the rules to punish rulebreakers... I think it just shows weakness (ours and the rules).

Now I should stop before this turns into a discussion about the morals of death penalty. I see the thread ending that way, it's the only way this can turn out.

Yeah I agree the rules are a bit weak in this area. They should make it like in Warhawk, where killing your own flag carrier negates the points you get for bringing back the flag. :)

Ok, he definitely deserves it if he does it repeatedly. It's best to do it when he's doing something important. Heck, I've purposely shot my tk-ing teammate with a sniper on Halo so the enemy would kill him real easy. It's funny because the option to kick you doesn't come up.

The question of whether team-killing a team-killer is justified depends on the circumstances and your intent, in my opinion. It may encourage the team-killer to kill more out of revenge. Focusing too much on a team-killer can be like giving a troll too much attention: your efforts will be futile and the distraction may cost the team's success more than simply ignoring the team-killer when possible.

However, in your situation, I'd say your actions were just. You were simply denying the team-killer his reward for killing his and your teammate.

Hmm well, an eye for an eye makes the whole world blind.

However in this situation you did the right thing, bastard deserved it.

"And eye for an eye" ain't justice, it's just sadistic revenge for one's own.
Teamkillers should be banned and forever humiliated by the community, but we should not descend to their pathetic level

On the internet, in your moment of weakness, someone will exploit it for their own personal gain. That's just the way it works.

OT: The prick deserved it. Someone had to intervene, and since you were the only one present, I can't say you didn't do the right thing.
