We're talking this current doctor, right? I say wait to see if he resists Captain Jack Harkness again - if he ever makes a re-appearance that is. If he does, he's straighter than straight.
haha, very well put, i hope jack comes back ^_^
They could bring Captain Jack back, but it would really piss off Rory...

Captain Jack: Hey Doctor, I'm back! And who's this lovely lady?
Rory: FFFFUUUUUUUU-
Ha! they should bring him back, make him go after Rory and completely blank Amy all the time. Her character needs bringing down a peg or two, she's not Aphrodite.
Now that would make me laugh. Toy with my feelings, will she? Well two can play at that game!

Rory: You know Jack, I was a Roman centurion for two thousand years; it got awfully lonely, you know...

And a new piece of slash fiction is born. No one can blame me for it, it's Captain Jack, the man who takes Rule 34 as a way of life.

I really think the poll doesn't give a "11th Doctor is straight, and I'm not joking option." Mostly because the only one that says he's straight implies that I'm a chick.

I'm a man, and I think the 11th Doctor is straight. He got smothered by River, and he's met her, what, three times? And judging by River's reaction, they have done that before, so that would imply that the 11th Doctor is straight. He's more of a wacky screwball than anything else when dealing with women.

Since river comes on to him and she's from his future, and she implies that they have had sex on more than one occasion, I'd say hes at least bi, if not totally straight.

He was uncomfortable when River was kissing him because he's still not really clear on who she is, and he had no idea what the hell was going on there. Other than that, yes, he's flamboyant, but that doesn't make him gay.

Does he have sex with men? If so then yes. If not then we can't be certain, nor does it seems like an important character trait.

I think ur misunderstanding eccentricity with homosexuality, people can be flamboyant without being gay and assuming so it kinda homophobic or at the very least stereo typing.

As to evidence and the doctors history we know for sure:
He had a family, a wife and children to be exact.
He and Rose tyler had a thing and his half human copy or whatever kissed and stayed with her and lived happily ever after etc blah blah.
He is also married to doctor river song if you pay attention to the latest episodes you would note that the reason he was acting weird with her kiss was because it was the first time he had kissed her. Their time lines essentially in reverse the first time he meets her is the last time she sees him and vice versa, she also states that the his first kiss with her was her last with him. Plus the dead give away after she kills a bunch of silence she refers to him as her "old man", plus the flirting calling him "sweety" etc.

So no hes not totally homosexual only having pursued female romances canonically, though very possibly bisexual. I think however at the moment its probably going to be a case of supporting gay or bisexual partners in dr. who as it a family show till prejudices die down. In 5-10 years we might see a homosexual relationship but thats only my best guess.

BTW its also worth noting although totally NOT canonical in an special for comic relief one of the doctors regenerations turned him into a woman and he/she decided to get off with the master so is that homosexual or hetrosexual i cant decide lol :p?

He's not gay, that's fact. Rose Tyler, River Song ect.

He may be bi though. It'd be totally in character to me anyway. I believe the BBC would be quite happy to do it too, the show has had a lot of gay and bi characters since it's return.

He may be(probably is) bi or just too old to care about what sex someone is(iff he were to like them), but he definitely likes girls.

So, you only do this for attention then.
... i'm sorry, what part of what i just said made you feel like you had reason to call me attention-seeking? seriously, i'm curious, what part!?

Not a Dr. Who fan, and never have been apart from a brief stint where I watched the 'rebirth' almost religiously because Eccleston is an absolute beast, but I'm pretty certain that the whole 'intergalactic Time Lord' thing kinda makes the idea of a fixed sexual orientation, or, indeed, any normal idea of sexuality as applied to the character, kinda redundant.

Let's not say no to a threesome.
Ok, but you bring the beer... oh you mean in Doctor Who! yeah... I totally meant that too!
Well, either alternative is just fine to me. ;)

EDIT: I don't do beer, though. Cider, vodka, rum and various other forms of alcohol are fine, however.

I really doubt the BBC would dare to air that, considering doctor who is a family/kids show.
Captain Jack Harkness was a gay character. The new character Canton (last name?) the CIA guy also admits to being gay to Nixon. It's why he was kicked out of the CIA. (Odd that the two american accented characters are gay)
It's still a family show.

Doctor 11 is not gay. He seems mostly asexual.

This would be the best Rocky Horror Picture Show parody ever.
