But I'm going to point out again, it's not the content, it's the context. How long would prominent erect cocks on men's apparel be tolerated? The answer is they wouldn't even be considered as anything other than perverse, most vehemently by feminists. Why is this ok? Out in public, amazingly enough, there are more people than you.HSIAMetalKing said:There's nothing inherently vulgar about it-- It's society that has attached negative connotations to any representation of the genitalia-- I don't know any girls who rock the Georgia O'Keefe aesthetic, but more power to them if they're willing to put up with society's reaction (like this thread).manythings said:Sound off kids, I'm curious about opinions. Well if you ever get the feeling that you are in a scene from the Da Vinci code start running right then.Jamash said:Everything on that page is pretty funny, but one is downright hilarious:
Order of the Clitorati? Surely that has to be some sort of joke...Vulva Portrait Pendant- Exotic Orchid- RESERVED for Members of the Order of the Clitorati
-picture of pendant-
This necklace is reserved for Members of the Order of the Clitorati. For induction into the order see...
To me that conjures up an image of the Mythic Dawn from Oblivion crossed with that scene from Jay and Silent Bob Strikes Back where Jay is proclaiming to be the C.L.I.T. Commander.
Shit, I expect the Clitorati will be after me now for ridiculing them, I better keep my eyes peeled for people wearing an Orchid-Vulva pendant.
While I agree with this, I can't help but ask "what's the point?"Vie said:"Yes, those are vaginas, good work"
Because I'm all for a world where people can display a replica of a part of the human body without people screaming "Think of the Children!"
The stuff on that website doesn't strike me as perverse in the slightest-- they're all tasteful representations, not anatomically-accurate flesh sculptures (I think there are other websites for those). It's flowers and shells and stuff.manythings said:But I'm going to point out again, it's not the content, it's the context. How long would prominent erect cocks on men's apparel be tolerated? I agree with you on this, when I saw the website I laughed a bit, but overall saw nothing innately wrong with the jewelry itself.HSIAMetalKing said:The stuff on that website doesn't strike me as perverse in the slightest-- they're all tasteful representations, not anatomically-accurate flesh sculptures (I think there are other websites for those). I don't think the penis lends itself as easily to fashion accessories-- they lack "floweriness", I guess, and their dimensionality would make any attempts to incorporate them into an outfit seem blatant and ostentatious. But that doesn't mean they can't be tastefully and sensibly rendered.
I figure that there's a market for everything if you can think of itBlue-State said:I guess a certain type of feminist would like these.
None for me thought thanks.
