I really do not believe that those are real, I mean I've heard of stupid people, but I can't believe that anyone is stupid enough to think THAT is even a shadow of a good idea.

Well, personally I think modern feminism is nothing but madness, but that's besides the point.

Madness, that is it!

PS, I don't think this discussion is really about feminism at all, but about how all of you have been raised to blush when you see certain body parts.
Ant that is wrong how?
Is it wrong for some people to value Modesty?
Is it wrong for some people to rather not see certian parts of another Body outside of the bedroom, even if its fake?

I don't get how its wrong.
I couldn't care less if someone wanted to wear something like these but, i am wrong for not wanting to see it?
You said it was wrong, not me-- I'm just pointing it out because it's difficult to have a real discussion about things like this when people think "eeeeew" whenever they see something that isn't inherently vulgar. It's not wrong that you were all raised that way-- that's just how it is. But you shouldn't expect people to censor themselves just because you personally consider human genitals to be explicit content.

I don't know. There have been stranger fashion trends in history--codpieces, anyone? Curly toed boots? Those hoods with the long tail thing trailing down from the back? There's nothing really wrong with any of these things, and more power to people if they want to wear them. But if I saw somebody walking down the street wearing a codpiece, curly toed boots, or the 'happy tampon' purse and trying to take it seriously, it would be hard not to laugh.

As a serious piece of fashion, it doesn't appeal to me personally. Don't get me wrong, I like girl parts a lot (I am a 27 year old heterosexual male, after all). But I like them where nature put them, and I like them as part of a whole body. Seeing a disembodied one on a purse doesn't really do anything for me, artistically or otherwise.

At least some people might wear them as a gesture of protest, but I've never really taken the idea of phallic imagery too seriously--yes, things like swords and guns and rocketships and lots of other things are somewhat penis shaped, but but before we attribute this to all kinds of deep-seated psychological causes shouldn't we also acknowledge that Form follows Function? I would like to see someone design thoroughly non-phallic versions of all these things and demonstrate their functional superiority, because unless this can be done in most cases we should at least consider that things are shaped the way they are because that shape is the most useful for the desired function.

One other thing to keep in mind is that humans are very strange creatures, and while we might like to think there is general consensus on a lot of things there really isn't. There are religious groups with millions of followers who worship penises and vaginas and use them in routine rituals. There is a Shinto ceremony where you write prayers on little clay penises and put them all in a shrine, kind of like how at Christian churches you can light prayer candles. There is a fertility festival in Japan where they carry a 9 ft long, 620 lb penis like a float in a parade. A lot of pagan religions made idols and artwork that were probably taken just as seriously as we take crucifixes, stars of david, and others today.

The bottom line is, I think those things are a bit weird, and would probably not buy them for anyone I knew. But I would not be at all surprised if there are people in the world who would be totally fine with them and treat them very normally, and I can respect that. Just forgive me a few immature giggles, and if you want to explain it I would be very interested to listen!
Well my issue is that the knob festival happens at knob festival time and ends. If someone doesn't want to be around it they already know when they are going. If I'm standing in line at the bank and suddenly have a vagina purse waved in my face I think that is pushing personal liberty too far into "offensive cause I can". I much prefer the actual thing (24 year old heterosexual male) but if I wouldn't want real vaginas beared in public all day why would I suddenly not care about fake ones?

It strikes me as being the female equivalent of the guy who gets tattoos on his upper arms and only ever wears sleeveless shirts. It strikes me as something you get cause you are a douche not because you are politically minded or making a statement. There are better, more interesting and more potent symbols of women's lib and equality but this just seems like the dick joke compared to the Odyssey.

Also Codpieces were designed to attract the eye to the package. Just like big crazy belt buckles today.

Who cares if its feminism! I'm more worried about what nut would but those things! All I can see spotty teens who can't get to any porn and creepy old men buying that sort of shiz... And maybe the "hardcore" feminist who doesn't actually know what it means.

hmmmm... I know a woman or two that'd want these. They're not the most mature women in the world, but they'd love to have them.

I said NSFW, that's the warning, and the poll includes the word Vagina.

Considering most things present in our culture are phallic symbols... Go for it, feminism. Seriously, the patriarchy is in dire need of some good old-fashioned overthrowing.
Name one "Phallic Symbol" that isn't that shape because that is the best shape to do the job it does.

Hmm... I don't think this works quite so well. Though the mental image of a man pressing a prosthetic vulva into somsone's face and screaming that out has put me in stiches. Hell, I wear black leather arm bands that look like medival bracers, a bullet belt, black jeans, and a "Finntroll" t-shirt and i'm looked at funny.

Yes it's absurd, but the world needs to settle down a bit
But, why should the world settle down at all? It's already grey and boring enough. Everyone looks the same, wears same designed clothes, eats same crap, lives in identical little houses with ikea manufactured furniture and drives identical idiotic cars.
Anything that brings some colour to such world is a good thing in my opinion.

You say you are look at funny just because of leather arm bands and that's what always annoys me. You look different you are automatically branded as a weirdo. People are afraid to break schemes and taboo's already, talking about sexuality loud and clearly is still considered some sort of deviation. But why? Why should we all wear identical suits and avoid controversy for sake of some undefined Greater Good?

The only annoying thing about those products for me is the 'feminist' tag that's supposedly used as not-so-clever marketing tool for all those wannabe "gurls tha' fight for 'em rites!". But even then, in the end, does it hurt you? Freedom of expression should be something natural.

My first thought would be that they are a lesbian or they have great pride in their genitalia.

I think the feminist tag is more of a cheap attempt to grab customers.
this guy got it right
I am a feminist (not some batshit insane "fuck all men") that would be pretty stupid, as I'm a guy.
But seriously, it's these fuckfaces that are giving feminism a bad name
Feminism means simplyfied: no differences between male and female.
which i believe in!
I agree with that too somewhat.
There will always be differences between men and women.
the only thing where there should be no differences is in the case of a persons Rights.
People who go around saying "It is not right to punch a girl"... You know those people right? Well FUCK THEM if I were ever to hurt someone physically seriously, it would not matter if they were a girl or a guy, if they deserve it, they fucking get it.
Well, i was raised not to hit a woman not because they are weak, but because i should respect ALL people.
So really i was raised not to hit anyone unless i was attacked first.
And if i can over power someone without hurting them then i will try.
But i will still try to avoid hitting a Woman at all just i was raised to be polite, especially to women.
I also hate those guys protecting women! Whenever i see that, I can't stop thinking that these guys have this idea that women are weak little people who cannot stand up for themselves
and that is true many of the times, not because they are women, but because this is what they are taught.
To me this depends on the situation.
And this actually goes for anyone, if i can see that they are in trouble and cannot defend themselves im gonna step in and help.
Especially if its a women and its violent, because well, men are naturally stronger than women.
Not to say that a woman cant be stronger than a man.
It
fucking
pisses
me
off!
Let the women stand up for themselves!
do NOT teach them that they are little insignificant people who are made to be protected and please men!

please go ragewar on me :)
So i agree that women can stand up for themselves and are not to be treated as weak helpless creatures.
But not every guy that help women are Sexist and view them as nothing more than possessions.
Im not trying to start a Ragewar.
