Well, in general, Western society tends to have a shit ton of sexual imagery in FUCKING EVERY FUCKING THING, just nothing so overt. All that is of note is the fact that it isn't pretending it's something else, like a flower or a monument (Obelisks anyone?)

My response was: THe fuck is this shit? Then I realized that those were things that were supposed to look like vaginas and my question is: If you are going to adorn yourself in things that look like vaginas why not just go outside naked and cut out the middleman while saving yourself some money. Sure it is kind of illegal but hell I am guessing that so is wearing a vagina necklace or whatever the hell thing that is that looks like it is made of actual flesh.

PS, I don't think this discussion is really about feminism at all, but about how all of you have been raised to blush when you see certain body parts.
Ant that is wrong how?
Is it wrong for some people to value Modesty?
Is it wrong for some people to rather not see certian parts of another Body outside of the bedroom, even if its fake?

I don't get how its wrong.
I couldn't care less if someone wanted to wear something like these but, i am wrong for not wanting to see it?
You said it was wrong, not me-- I'm just pointing it out because it's difficult to have a real discussion about things like this when people think "eeeeew" whenever they see something that isn't inherently vulgar. It's not wrong that you were all raised that way-- that's just how it is. But you shouldn't expect people to censor themselves just because you personally consider human genitals to be explicit content.
ok, i understand.
And really i don't expect people to censor things like that just because of my feelings, its just some people seam to think that just because i do think that some things are better shown in the Bedroom that id like to see all women/men covered up from head to toe.
I mean, i can just look the other way no problem, but it gets on my nerves when people like to shove things like this in others faces just to be Edgy.
And really that goes for anything.
:/
Worshiip the almighty foot! You fools all view them simply as tools of transit! You walk all over them! No more! No more shall feet be slaves to the will of the head! We feet lovers shall cut ourselves from those of you who value the boarish Brain or the insipid penis and vulva! We don't just want to think for ourselves, we want to be the overlords of those who wronged us for so long!

As a woman I hate the way a vagina (Vulva) looks. It looks like a Festering Axe Wound to me.

Now Penis on the other hand, that's a very nice invention.

These sorts of things are for people who are trying OH SO VERY HARD to be controversial and provocative, due perhaps to their own personal disillusionment about sexuality or some other issue. No one goes to that website and thinks "Oh, MAN, do I just love vaginas. I need to express my love for vaginas to others, in the form of a fashion accessory." It's not feminism or misogyny, it's just sort of petty and adolescent. You know. Mommy issues and whatnot.

Hmm... I don't think this works quite so well. Though the mental image of a man pressing a prosthetic vulva into somsone's face and screaming that out has put me in stiches. Hell, I wear black leather arm bands that look like medival bracers, a bullet belt, black jeans, and a "Finntroll" t-shirt and i'm looked at funny.

Yes it's absurd, but the world needs to settle down a bit
But, why should the world settle down at all? It's already grey and boring enough. Everyone looks the same, wears same designed clothes, eats same crap, lives in identical little houses with ikea manufactured furniture and drives identical idiotic cars.
Anything that brings some colour to such world is a good thing in my opinion.

You say you are look at funny just because of leather arm bands and that's what always annoys me. You look different you are automatically branded as a weirdo. People are afraid to break schemes and taboo's already, talking about sexuality loud and clearly is still considered some sort of deviation. But why? Why should we all wear identical suits and avoid controversy for sake of some undefined Greater Good?

The only annoying thing about those products for me is the 'feminist' tag that's supposedly used as not-so-clever marketing tool for all those wannabe "gurls tha' fight for 'em rites!". But even then, in the end, does it hurt you? Freedom of expression should be something natural.
I think we have different interpretations of my phrase "Settle down" People neeed to relax about the taboo, open their eyes to the differences, embrace people for who they are not who you want them to be. If they don't want to embrace it then atleast let those who live their lives with ideas and thoughts and images in our heads do just that: Live.

Hell I went into accounting and yes, on the job I am more than happy to give my company what the world deems a "Good image" though I'm severely hoping for an employer that understands who I am and that simply because my shirts have decaying troll heads (Finntroll) on them that I'm no lett competant than the idiot sitting next to me in a suit and tie and his thumb jammed so far up his nose that it's the only think keeping his inner lightbulb on.

I think feminist have taken it too far. They say they want equal rights, they want to be treat like everyone else. Somehow, men are supposed to open doors for ladies (because they are equal), women should get tons of pay increases while men don't (because men got them all in the past). We're looking at female superiority now.

These objects are not feminist, they are original and they are uncensored. If ANY labels should be placed on them, then these are the only two.

yea...im damn immature so if anyone came up to me with one of those products i'd just bust a gut laughing...of course if they mention anything about it being feminist i'd stop and just look at them with my 'stop talking that bullshit' face...then laugh harder...

Yes, but is that a bad thing? There's no real point to showing off a vagina or penis except to prove that you have a vagina or penis. This is the same reason why ANY excessive show of skin would be looked down on by anyone; it's meaningless self-aggrandization that has no place even in a sexually-permissive society.

By the way (in response to this item [http://www.etsy.com/listing/50803196/honey-pot-vegan-lip-balm-1-oz-mature]) the legal definition of "obscene" is "tending to stir the sex impulses or to lead to sexually impure and lustful thoughts". There are about a dozen Supreme Court rulings that have set that precedent.

Well, people buy truck nuts so I'm sure there's SOMEONE that would buy these things. I'm betting on the rednecks though.

I am completely and utterly...

Unaffected by this. I wouldn't want or wear one of those, but I certainly wouldn't call it madness. I can't even call it a big deal.

Okay. This is just plain madness and anyone who buys it is just as insane as Lady Gaga. Come to think of it she would be just the person to get these..hell she may even make an outfit designed to look like one.
Lol she made one out of beef, I literally laughed for ten minutes straight when I saw that.
Brings new, or I guess old, meaning to the term beef curtains.

Personally, I do not find genitalia to be the most beautiful portion of the human body. I would not use it, in either male, nor female form, to symbolize my movement.

Therein, I shall not begin wearing a penis around my neck as a marker of my... y chromosome?

(Something very artfully/SUBTLY done could be tasteful. None of those images fit the bill, in my opinion.)

This. IS.

Okay, I won't do that.

OT: Erm, I'm not really sure why anyone would buy them. Imagine doing that with the male equivalent - you'd get some looks.
DOOOO IT! FOR SPARTIA!

Sound off kids, I'm curious about opinions. Gender, age, status and if you would give me some whys.
You're being rather specific. Funny how no one is giving you any of this information though. lol

OT: It's just like bad art that gets really popular for no reason other than people are weird about it. People want it because some part of their brain fell out, presumably the one part dealing with common sense. Thus, this kind of shit is born. Do normal people want it? Usually not, but we've seen some pretty stupid normal people, am I right?
Hope springs eternal. I still am genuinely curious about how opinions would differ based on those factors but c'est la vie.

Learn a little about architecture and you'll understand that towers and obelisks are that shaped so they won't blow over and, you know, kill someone not because (or at least no wholly) because some guy wanted to say he had a huge cock.

Honestly... I know some pretty extreme feminists, and hell, they wear and say some pretty crazy shit, but I cant see any type of feminist wear something like that... I think that isn't the type of thing they would like, Hell they would probably find it offensive and label it with all the other crazy shit you can get at a sex shop. Maybe this is just me looking at it from a guys point of view, I am no feminist, but I would more expect that to be worn by guys who got sex change operation and wanted everyone to know they are a woman... now.
