Poll: Is VR only going to be about walking simulators and shooting galleries?

Well, The Terminator for Dos sucked, so FPS games that mix on-foot and in-vehicle gameplay will never be good.

...Right?

Around here, saying any FPS is good is bound to get you some harsh cynicism in return. Gods help you if you admit to liking games like Half-Life, Halo, or Call of Duty.

Still, it is odd, isn't it? This weird notion people have that, because VR didn't work in the 90s (with our woefully underpowered computer systems of that era), it's doomed to fail forever.

It's like these people actually think technology doesn't advance. Like it just...never changes.

They're textbook Luddites. Or diehard Apple users. They're convinced that whatever tech they have now is all there ever should be. Anything new is pointless, useless, and scary. And we certainly wouldn't want anyone using something scary...

There are also games like Unseen Diplomacy that don't have any kind of teleportation or artificial locomotion at all, and create an "endless" level.
That sort of stuff is really impressive, IMO.

Nope. Judging by what I heard of the crowds at E3 and what they were lining up to see, VR is going to be about porn. LOTS of porn. As in: ALL the porn!!!
