Not sure if they are evil. What malmart does is undercut the middle class stores since they buy things in bulk at a cheaper price. Mom and pop stores can't compete with those prices, so they go under.

Now, I'm not sure if thats evil...depends on a persons definition of the word. Mine, well I guess evil is in the district of genocide. But amoral business practises does not a genocide make.

Rich get richer...poor get poorer. As usual.

I don't know about evil but I heard they banned the scissor sisters album for explicit lyrics but don't they sell guns and ammo? Just seems a little double standard to me.
Heh:

"We wouldn't dream of selling something that MIGHT teach people naughty language. But selling something that MIGHT ease the job of robbing a store or killing other people in general is O-Kay!" :p

Check the "Big Box Mart" skit for an entertaining and very relevant little ditty about this issue. It's on JibJab.

Short answer: Yes. They are. Bad, I mean. Not necessarily "evil," but they do more harm than good. They are the Gamestop of retail, which is ironic because technically GS would consider themselves a retail store, even though they are essentially a pawnshop. Anyhow, they provide poor quality at slightly lower prices, and treat their employees horribly. I would never buy anything from Wal-Mart that wasn't obviously a name brand product, because the stuff they sell is garbage. Check the return lines next time you shop. Near where I'm at, seems like they're always full.

I would say selling medicine for five dollars is pretty evil. Once they kill off local pharmacies they'll just hike up the prices and you won't be able to get medicine anywhere else.

I have always thought it would be funny if somebody bought a gun and ammo then held up the store, it would be a wonderful moment to me.

There are no wall marts here but i wish there were some, it's really a pain to walk in several stores in order to get everything you need

Yay, made my day.

Does it seem weird a terminator would need a laser sight?

I would say yes. They are too overwhelming in what they can do to smaller shops. They are chlorine in the pond of shopping. But I assume company is trying to screw me as soon as they can buy their way out of most every disaster.

It depends. Exactly how powerful is that CPU of his? I mean, it probably takes a whole lot of computational power to calculate what exact position his arm holding the gun is in and how the position of the gun in his hand correlates to where the target is standing. And since he's not using the iron sights of most guns but fire from the hip, his only way of actually hitting something that way he would have to do it by "gutfeeling" (or rather having his CPU to calculate exactly how he's holding the gun in relation to where the target is and how that target is moving, since robots don't have "gutfeeling" like we humans do).

Whereas a fitted laser sight might alleviate the computational process a little, since we know that the terminator can see in the infra-red spectrum and could thus use the laser sight as a visual marker a little like certain laser guided missile systems do today when firing his gun without using the iron sights.

Sounds reasonable? :p

Not to ruin that but at one point doesn't he blow up a few cars without killing anybody and another time he is carrying a coffin while shotting a mini gun not killing anybody.

In that he was deliberately ordered not to harm anyone, and did a perfect job of it.
