I never jumped on the xbox bandwagon so this really doesn't apply. I don't think it is dead but it isn't comparing well to the PS3 at the moment.

The exact same thing was said when the 360 started getting games that were previously PlayStation exclusive. Both systems are great, and for their own reasons. One is NOT better then the other, nor is either dying out anytime soon. This Gen of consoles is not coming to a close, hell, they are just releasing new "motion detection technology" for said systems.

Consoles will come and go, but whiners will remain forever.

How's that for a first post.
Well said!

So it's sunny today where I live -- I guess that means it will never rain again. I guess I better stock up on sunscreen.

Other than to generate responses I have a hard time understanding this premise of this thread.

I suspect the 360 is not done. Halo's current sales figures might be a better indicator of the state of the 360's position in the market, than ME being ported. Did GTA being ported to the original XBOX signal the end for PS2?

That could very well be the finishing move for this thread. Seems that Sony is going to need a few more titles (ports, exclusives, whatever) to bring their hardware off life support.

The 360 still has plenty of life (and money) left in it. Sony is in the same ballgame, plenty of life left in the PS3 too!

Its format is dying and a massive problem.
Its power is pathetic compared to most PC's and less then the PS3.

But as the average 14 year old does not know this, it will still sell and have short, poor quality games developed for it and these games will spread like a virus across the other platforms resulting in the gaming industry stagnating for another few years.

it is dying.
which might explain MS's fixation with Kinect at the moment.

A console doesn't need exclusives to be worthwhile, and the 360 is hardly "done". Either you're a troll, in which case please don't bother posting again, or you're sorely misguided and biased, in which case please try to open your mind to the idea that not everyone is a hardcore console fanboy, that all gaming platforms have something worthwhile to offer, and that the gaming public is more than just the folks who hang out on gaming websites.

Um.. you do realise that a couple months ago Microsoft released a brand new version of the 360? Microsoft, with all it's funds and expertise released a console for it to be lost in mere months. Yeah, likely. Mass Effect is still on the 360 too y'know? You don't just drop Microsoft like that because you like Sony a bit more.

This generation is not coming to a close. Playstation Move was just released for the PS3 and Kinect will be released for both new and old Xboxs (provided you buy the extra bit for the old ones). Wherever you got your facts and opinions, they are wrong, this generation is just getting good.

To be quite honest sir, you are coming across as a bumbling buffoon.

Well said, I couldn't agree more.
Also, how does 1 exclusive going to the PS3 mean the end for the Xbox?

In My Opinion, its done for core gamers and MS does not care at all. they're just after a piece of Wii's pie.

as an example, when ME2 went multi-platform, MS's response was basically "We cant rely on 3rd party developers, here are some games by us, for the PC" and came out "Flight" and "AoE:Online" which will in no way interest many of us. maybe the hardcore fans i suppose.

seriously, in the coming year, other than Gears 3, what core gaming experience is it offering that its competition is not ? in other words, is there a good number of reasons to keep this console ?

and don't give me the "Halo sold a lot" response, were talking about promising future releases here.

best thing to do, IMO, is give them a bit of time, perhaps till the next E3. if their tactics are not changed by then, we can decide much easier.

No, but I can dream, can't I?

Ah, I would laugh for days if the Kinect failed miserably. I have a feeling they'll find enough people with more money than sense to make a profit on it, though.
