Poll: Is Yahtzee a Communist?

My little brother thinks Yahtzee is a communist. He base's his idea on a Zero-Punctuation video he saw me watch. I don't think the same, thou he is the smart one. What are you guys thoughts?

No, he isn't a communist. However, from what I've seen in his various videos and such, he most assuredly is a liberal. Not liberal in the American sense, but in the generally more acceptable European sense, meaning pro-universal healthcare, gun control and the like. Which, frankly, most of Europe is.

I was watching a Zero Punctuation and and he was talking about Nazis, he saw a picture of a black and white guy. Since Yahtzee talks so fast I'm guessing he got lost in translation.

Wait, how does one jump from "Nazis" to "a communist"? What possible thing can one say about the Nazis to mark him as a communist? They are bad - that's not really just the communist perspective. They are good - that's not a communist perspective at all.

I think it's just the whole "black and white pictures of a historically controversial society" thing, and he mustn't have registered the reference to nazism? He probably assumed communism from there, like a true 'Merican.

Well, if you picture this ideal where the game industry has watchdogs assigned to them who wear overcoats and carry pistols, and have the ability to summarily execute bad executives and poor game designers...then I think Yahtzee would be a Commissar.

There was once a Zero Punctuation where Yahtzee mentioned how he enjoyed being in the "nearly recession-proof video games industry." So I think if Yahtzee were a communist, he would not be writing about video games (a market which wouldn't really exist in a totally communist society) and nor would he be a writer and independent gamemaker selling products in a capitalist system.

Why wouldn't video games exist in a communist society?

I would as well. I have had arguments with people over this sort of thing (communism and what it really is) before and I am somewhat reluctant to get into it again. The biggest argument I ever had on the internet was with a guy who tried to claim that China was Communist. I will always remember it because I was actually able to get him to understand that he was wrong and why. Imagine, changing somebody?s mind on the internet.

Well he DOES seem to enjoy getting free games, essentially, but we don't know and it doesn't matter. As long as he's a good enough person, he can be a cynical triple agent alien. And supervillain.
