Poll: Is your band well known?

I've heard people say 'Well, let these news fans be fans, why should it bother you?' It bothers me because these X-Factos fans will most likely not listen to the older, really good Rock music by Biffy because most of them only listen to the utter shite that comes out of the God-awful TV show and the crap that stinks up the charts with it's auto-tune, repetivie, generic mess.

I love opinions. They portray such kindness towards how other people think.

Oh, wait...

Whatever happened to just letting people listen to whatever they want to listen to?

Well, my favourite bands are Clutch, The Protomen, Maximum the Hormone, Alestorm...Jonathan Coulton (technically not a band)...Two Steps From Hell (technically not a band either, but eh).

I haven't found a single person in this ruddy country who has known one of these bands before I'd introduced them to 'em. So I reckon they're not the most popular bands out there.

Though I do also really like some more popular bands, like Biffy Clyro, Mastodon.

That's about all I can think of. Some others I listen to are a bit more obscure too.

OT: I havent met anyone in life who has heard of Cynic. But people have heard of Opeth and King Crimson, everyone knows Black Sabbath and Pink Floyd.

Add genesis to the list and THAT'S good music (minus black sabbath).

I do believe most of metal fans have at least heard of In This Moment, due to the fact that their lead singer was named the hottest female in Metal... but then again.. I've only ever met 3 people who actually knew about them so IDK.. anyone?

I've unfortunately met very few people who know most of the bands I like. I do like quite obscure punk bands but even the more well known bands like Bad Religion most people seem to know nothing about.
My favourite band seems to change quite a bit though. I'd currently say it is between Bad Religion and Social Distortion.

OMFG!!!!!! Social Distortion is like my favorite punk/rock band, and no one where I live knows of their existence!!! :O Good taste, bro.

Not a lot of people where I live have heard of Iron Maiden either. (I live in the ghetto, where rap and hip hop takes over the land. :/)
