The last time there was a black out over here was years ago. It happen around 10/11 pm ish and my bro was over. All I did was just talk to my bro about random stuff althought he didn't took part in it... then we just head to bed I think.
Average midnight Im sitting in the dark on my laptop anyway. I wouldn't notice till about 2 hours later when the battery clonked out I guess at which point I'd just go to sleep.
Actually, depends if I was browsing the net or playing a game. Lack of a powered router might cause me to notice things a bit quicker!

By midnight I probably would have been asleep for several hours and I wouldn't even notice the loss of power until I woke up and noticed my alarm clock was blinking at me.
Sleep or get out a flashlight and read a book. There were things to do before the internet, guys. Hell, nowadays we got handheld games with backlit screens. Remember when we were forced to play with a flashlight or external light attachment before then?
I'd sleep, and in the morning I'd call the power company and yell at them in the hopes they're already working on it.
lmao pretty much every one would go to sleep. kind of a stupid question. might have been better if you said 8PM that way it'd be late enough to be off of work/school but not late enough to sleep. than we'd see different results.
What I usually do during power outages, nap. Hell, if it's midnight I'm probably already asleep.

That happened to me once. Just got home from work and suddenly the power to the entire neighbourhood dies. I just went to sleep, hoping it would be back on in the morning (turns out a drunk driver smashed into a power conduit).
If I had reason to think it would be a longer outage I'd probably move all the food in the fridge down to the basement freezer first.

why would a power outage result in fear? it's not like to live around xenomorphs or anything. there's nothing to fear but fear itself.

I'd use the wind-up clock/radio/torch I have next to my bed, read for a bit, then go to sleep. Simples!
