The US government.

In other words, yes. Nukes. Lots and lots of poorly aimed nukes.

"I bet I can hit the moon from here!"

even if none of those happen, this planet will be dead in 2 billion years. It will be a dry cold wasteland like mars.

heheheh..."hard-on colliders."

Anyways, these are the three most plausible outcomes for me:

1) Zombie Outbreak. Between nanobots, re-animation, and mind-eroding parasites, science is well on its way to becoming the main consumer of human brains. Lax gun control ensures that we will be able to defend ourselves suitable well. That, and islands.

2) Nuclear Crisis. The vast majority of people wouldn't be able to afford shelter of any sort, so when North Korea can finally move on up from cardboard and the bones of its citizens as major building materials for missiles, or when Amadhy decides to get off his lazy ass and purge the world of Semites (that is, the whole Middle East), only the most protected and privileged will go on to advance the human race in a nuclear wasteland.

3) Galactic Expansion. The erosion of archaic ideals, prejudices, and beliefs allows humanity to enter a new Golden Age, where peace and prosperity reigns. Without war or stupid campaigns, we would be free to divert our resources to new enterprises, including planet mining, moon colonization, and further contact with aliens, which may or may not result in a short-lived military engagement. We get an embassy on the Citadel. You know the rest.

Fortuneatly or sadly (depending on your view of things) the world isn't going to end anytime soon and humanity will inhabit this dirt ball in the ass end of space for many millenia to come.

The apocolypse is not coming, we're all going to be fine, get out of your fallout shelters, take off the radiation suit and go buy a damn ice cream cone.

If anything I could see the world simply shutting down out of fear that setting foot outside for something even as simple as a nice treat on a warm summer day will result in horrible, painful death via an airborne, flesh-eating virus from some godforsaken country we've never heard of until now.

Islands won't work, just watch Dawn of the Dead

Dude.
1) the HUMAN race will not exist many millenia from now, not even dinosaurs could do that and they had no intelligence
2) The apocalypse is coming, it comes every couple million years and we are way overdue and
3) it is spelled apocalypse.

I'm thinking if we're lucky we will have evacuated the earth by then or we will destroy it with nukes ending up like fallout 3 in a sense

Even if our nukes or pollution don't kill off everyone when used (or... you know... made), they'll at least put us on a set path toward extinction.

So, nukes, or other human-controlled environmental destruction.

Humans suck.

(EDIT: Oh yeah, and, um, I'm back! I left for a few months while the forums became a bit more tolerable. I don't really know if the forums actually got a bit better over the time, or if my standards were simply more degraded by all the fucking retards that inhabit the planet. Either way, I'm here to see if I can stomach this place again for a while.)

Chuck Norris will round house kick us to the sun because he got bored with earth and wants to start a new race on Mars.
chuck norris needs no silly sun.

there is no such thing as global warming. Chuck Norris was cold, so he turned the sun up.

chuck norris just kicks the ground, then the earth will be ruined by a earthquake with 20 on the richter scale.

Chuck Norris´ pulse is measured on the richter scale.

The world ain't gonna end until the Sun turns into a red giants and swallows our little planet in a couple of billion years.
As for humanity, well, we'll probably die out a lot sooner.
But that's nothing to worry about today.
