So I've tried many a thing to destroy the Escapist; tits, ass, tits vs. ass, chunky vs. smooth peanut butter, more tits, monster girls, anime, video games, monster girl tits (I swear I'll make this tit thing stick one day)., ethical dilemmas, moral quandaries etc.

But this week, I come to you with only a one line, simple question my fellow Escapists;

Car-mel or Car-a-mel?

Car-mel? What the flip is that?

Car-a-mel is the right way.

Then again, I have been told I pronounce "Wednesday" strangely.

Listening to the rambles of the slurring smelly village drunk shouldn't be considered a point of valid literature consumption, I feel obliged to mention.

I have heard it pronounced kar-mul or kar-mull before. They're wrong, but I've heard it pronounced that way.

EDIT: And some of you have been posting in WW too much

Generally I hear it as CAR-mel but I've always referred to it like Care-a-Mel.

So I reject your choices and substitute my own!

Car-a-mel.

As a side note, I thought that when a cook caramelizes onions, they literally dip them in caramel and cook them.

I realize it's supposed to be Car-a-mel, but I'm American, so it goes by the wayside like Alu-min-i-um.

What a useless question, Paragon. Clearly, the real question is whether caramel is best used in coffee, in deserts, on ice cream, or smeared over breast that have their own zip code.

Also, I say car-mel, but I know it's car-a-mel. I have a lazy tongue.

Also (Again), where's that Frappe chap?

So wait, you have a lazy tongue but wonder if carAmel should be poured over Boob City?! Seems like a waste...

Also, carAmel is best over either chocolate ice-cream or smeared over a reasonable principality sized bosom, with the intention to then clean with an energetic tongue that gets up early to jog and eats healthy.

And didn't Frappe get the hammer?

Nah. In fact, his (I always want to type her, just because of the avatar) health bar has zero infractions, the good two shoes.

Takes him a while to show up though, even in threads that are just begging for him. Think he only posts in Off-Topic when he miss-clicks on his way to forum games.

Well, to be perfectly honest, it's disgusting to me, so I never touch the stuff, myself.

I have a feeling this is a rather American debate, because neither of those seem remotely like anything I've ever head, unless you've just rendered them in a weird way.

Car-mel seems like it would be pronounced kɑːmɛl, whereas Car-a-mel seems like it should be pronounced kɑːəmɛl, an extremely clunky and unnatural pronunciation that I doubt anyone actually uses. Are you sure you don't mean Car-ra-mel?

Either way, in Australia I've only ever head it pronounced Ca-ra-mel, as kæɹəmɛl or kæɹəm(ə)l.

Er...caramel. Never heard "carmel". That makes me think more of "Cartmel" than caramel, but I currently am watching later Classic doctor who, so that might be it.
