I was about to say Bourne, but when you came at the end "Connery is Bond", the game was already over. Sean Connery stood towering over his enemy with a shaken (not stirred) glass of Martini in his hand.

My vote has to go with Bourne. He is, afterall, an expert in hand to hand combat and guns as well as being very, very sneaky. However, something tells me even the corpse of Bond would still get all the ladies.
Jason Bourne would mash the fuck out of Bond. He's a proper assasin that does proper assasiny stuff all the time. Bond is just too cool for all that shit.

Bourne's the better character, I think. Other than Sean Connery, all the other Bonds just seem to be whiny little tossers. Bourne is much more morally ambiguous, and therefore a better character with flaws and actual humanity, whereas Bond is just a cartoon cutout.

Bond due to luck even though Bourne outclasses him in combat.
The last James Bond movies have been a let down, they feel nothing like a James Bond movie and more like "generic" action movie, sure they are better at being action movies but that doesn't make them James Bond movies.

Jason Bourne from the Bourne Identity would put up a good fight.
But Jason Bourne in the later movies relies too much on "Shaky-Cam-Fu", so he's fighting with a handicap. Take that away and James Bond easily wins.

Considering Sean Connery has unlocked the key to immortality (he hasn't aged since Indian Jones and the Last Crusade), I'd say Sean would win. Plus he has more [insert random object]-shaped guns than you could shake a particularly steady stick at.
