Hey you. Yeah you, Escapists!
Do you like JoJo? Do you like them poses? Well then, share your love here. Say anything you like: Who is your favorite JoJo? Ally? Villain? Stand? Do you like hamon or stand better? Predicttions for the future? Type anything you like!

Although, lets also take time and type ONE negative thing about JoJo to somehow water down the awesomness, because concentrated JoJo badassitude can destroy our world and create another dimension with cowboys (or something else, never tried it before).

OK, here goes:

Damn, do I like JJBA. It is one of the few (if not the only) manga where I actually do not mind pretty boys, so well drawn they are. It is the only manganime where character can be cool and fabulous at the same moment. So many colourful characters. So many original ideas for powers. So good!

And oh do I like Jonathan Joestar. True gentleman, brawler, friend and loyal son. Imagine if he got pierced by the arrow? What stand would he have, I wonder. Probably some baller-looking knight with, I don't know, shield of ultimate defense and sword that can create shockwaves, or something. Or screw humanoid stand, just sword and shield. Yeah, that's better.

Favourite ally? Avdol, of course. Cool egyptian fortune teller with power of flames. What's not to like?

Favourite villain? Damn, I'll go with Kira. There is just something really menancing about a guy who spent so many years blasting people to bits without getting caught. And that suit. That damn White Suit! Smart, calculative, clever, ruthless and stylish. Yep, my kind of villain.

Although there is a thingy I do not like about JJBA. I understand having young-in-body athletic guys as a majority of a cast is 1st and 2nd part, but why not have a bit more diversity with characters when they started to fight indirectly, with stands? There aren't nearly enough girls, fat people, handicapped people and old people in this franchise.

Still, love this manganime.

Joseph is the best JoJo!

I too love Avdol. Easily the best JoJo ally so far...

Totes called he was alive!

I do get a little irritated at the series' representation of women, and have to remind myself that the part of the series currently being adapted to animation was written back in the late 80's/early 90's. Considering David is shooting for a legit adaptation, it would be silly to change how any of the characters were originally written.

That said, I'm excited for Part 6. I suspect things get much better on that front :3

Your next line is "Wow, what a fantastically bizarre anime!"
Yeah, Joseph is the best JoJo. And Part II is still my favourite intro. I enjoyed Stardust Crusaders so far, but I find Jotaro to be very dull with his almost completely silent tough guy type personality.

Joseph Joestar is best Joestar, but I have to say Diamond Is Unbreakable is one of my favorite archs; the final fight against Kira -OMG-.

Gyro is the best Zeppli and the best arc is a tie between Stone Ocean and Speed ball run, both for its character development and haveing bizarre stands

"Aren't nearly enough girls"
That's because it's a manime.

I think Jonathans stand would have actually been Hermit purple. We see Dio using Hermit and Za Wurdo, so my theory is that Dio has The World as his own stand, and can use Hermit because he stole Jonathans body.

I love every Jojo (at least up to part 4)! But I think I like Josuke the most. All the badassery of Jotaro with a much better personality in my opinion.

I haven't read past part 4, though. It'll happen eventually, but I just haven't had the time.

Well i know i cant wait for the anime to get to Jotaro vs. Dio.

Also would anyone happen to know whether the anime will continue into part 4 after its done with part 3? It seems unlikely that it wouldnt to me, but i cant find solid info for that far ahead.

My own crazy theory is that The Worlds actual ability was copying the abilities of blood realatives, and that Jonathan never had the potential for a stand.

Although the actual explanation of the stands has been nebulous and subject to change over the decades, im fairly sure that the only way to steal someones spiritual energy is to have a stand that can do that.

Jojo parts 1 - 3 were all made in the time where Fist of the North star and DBZ were all the rage. It's a subversion of the times it was made in since all the characters look super manly yet are extremely flamboyant.
Also as someone else said, its Manime, its full of mancandy and i couldnt be happier about it.

Part 4 is where it starts to look incredibly different. And from about part 5 onwards its almost unrecognizable. Also part 6 takes place in a womens prison, so Araki sort of makes up for the lack of significant females in the last 5 parts with that

I remember the author stating somewhere that Dio originally just had every stand ability. Then he decided that it was a little too overpowered, and toned it down. Well slightly.

Also no where in Jojo has anyone ever stolen someone elses stand, the closest that its ever gotten is in part 8 where

The main character is actually an artificial human created when his original body and the body of another character were buried under wall eyes, essentially fusing them and their stands together

Stands are a representation of the users spirit, so they cant be stolen.

Uh also I think it was said that the adaptation of Part 4 depends on how well (ie how much merchandise is sold) Stardust Crusaders does.... So fingers crossed..

Really? Its almost as if Pucci didnt have a stand that was used to do exactly that to Jotaro.

Also Rohan came close to losing Heavens Door in the rock paper scissors duel with the rock paper scissors kid.

Also in both cases, the extraction of the stand had detrimental effects on the victims. Rohan could only use his left arm in after he lost two rounds of RPS, and without Star Platinum (or his memories) Jotaro was in a comatose state and had to be put on life support until Jolyene got it back.

You know what. Im a complete and utter retard for forgetting practically the entire plot of Stone Ocean

I've read some time ago that originally Araki planned to give DIO access to every existing stand, but scrapped the idea, because then he would have been overpowered.
And I highly doubt that if anime will continue to be as successful as it is now it won' go as far as part 6 AT LEAST.

I also hope that sometime in the future parts 1 and 2 will be redone, because the really cut away a lot of content.

I'm only as far as the anime, which is to say, not very, it seems, but hot damn have I been loving every second of this.
Joeseph Joestar is best jojo, but that first season probably has the best Opening theme this side of Hunter X Hunter.
(I'll give you a hint on my favorite Jojo character)
<-
Baron Zepelli.
It's amazing seeing this now, and realizing how many things were influenced by the Jo's. I can only imagine that things like Shaman King and Persona have taken inspiration from stands, Guile is obviously American Stroheim, and I'm sure there's others.

"Your next line is gonna be "Damn, Joseph is the best Jojo", I bet"

Damn, Joseph is the best Jojo... huh!? He's a character I've always wanted to see in a shonen anime: A weak character who never gets stronger but never OP, uses mostly his wits to win and survive. None of this "I can make the bigger explosion therefore I win" protagonist syndrome (Naruto...). Also the only character I can seriously say "wins a fight by kissing a pigeon into a woman's mouth".

That said, Giovanni has the best pose.

Got into the series only this year thanks to the SuperBestFriends shooting their boners all over it all the time. Currently reading the manga. Halfway through Stardust Crusaders. Wish I knew where to legally watch the show.

I can unequivocally agree with the statement that Joseph is, indeed, best jojo. The man had a fiery charisma and was just so likeable and funny and relateable that you just couldn't help but be swept up in his character.

An you just hit the nail on the head as to why I love jojo so damn much. Its a bit of an understatement to say that I like smart protagonists. Sometimes they can be some of the best protags, which is why I adored no game no life. But when that intelligence extends to the battle then it just goes to a whole different level. One of the problems I had with the fights in LoK is that they sorta boiled down to "keep throwing stuff at your opponent until they fell over" even if the animation was beautiful. But ever single fight in jojo is less of a "fight" and more of solving a puzzle. And because they took that puzzle first approach every fight is exciting and unique. And it gives rise to better, more unique powers, which means better, more unique fights. A feedback loop of awesome that piles onto itself until your heart starts shivering, with enough to to burn up!!!! AAAAGH!

Okay im calm. One of the few negative things I have to say about jojo is that part 3 dragged on a little to long for me. I mean it was great to see all the Egyptian god stands but they had spent so long and so much energy getting to egypt and there was so much buildup to them getting there that when the second set of stands came out it felt emotionally draining, like my hype bubble was popped and all the buildup had been completely reset. After that I just sorta cruised through the second half of part 3 just waiting to get to DIO without all that emotional investment that cared me through the first half.

Anyway, favorite arc: So far Battle tendency. Followed closely by diamond is unbreakable.

Favorite ally: That is so hard to choose. At this point I just don't know, there are to many great companions. If I HAD to pick one I think either rohan or koichi would have to be my pick. I havent finished part 5 yet so we'll see if anyone stands out between now and then.

Favorite villain: Well DIO of course. To have anyone else as your favorite villain is utterly useless, useless, useless! Phantom blood and DIO are both so great. Its more of the Joseph situation, hes charismatic and brilliant while also cold, calculating, powerful and when he gets the show going it really gets going and turns into DIO's bizarre adventure simply because he just commands that much presence.

As for Jonathan's stand I'd like to think that since he is the joestar progenitor his stand actually is Za Warudo. But because DIO took his body their combined potential unlocked a second stand which was the hermit purple-like one we saw with avdol. Also when it comes between the ripple and stands, Stands may be better but hamon will always hold a special place in my heart. Never forget ;_;7

There is just so much to talk about with jojo its insane. I just love the show so much that I don't know where to stop.

I haven't read the manga but I've been really enjoying the anime.
So far Joesph Joestar was my favourite character and part 2 was my favourite arc though it's a tough call since I loved the first arc with Jonathon as well.

I've not been enjoying part 3 that much tough, I liked Hamon a lot more than stands and so far it's not felt as enjoyable as the first two parts. It's probably just because it's a lot more drawn out and it feels like im watching filler as they travel to Egypt.
