Don't you hate it when you come back from a frustrating/boring day at work/school and can't wait to relieve stress by playing your favorite FPS but then some young child with a squeaky voice comes in and ruins everything. Sure, you can ignore them and hope that by the time the round has ended they'd have had ragequitted or something but that doesn't usually happen. OR you could mute them but their presence is still there on the leaderboard, taunting you.

So, discuss and disect.

Sounds like you're just insecure to me.

I'd mute them, but I've never played against little kids anyway (not ones with mics at any rate).

Its annoying for sure, but to me it's much more depressing than annoying. The thought that a parent cares so little for his kid's development that they allow him free reign over his mouth like that... assuming that you're talking the stereotypical 12 year old foul mouthed kid. Of course, the reason why they get that way is because they hear foul mouthed teens and adults say the same thing. So if we can solve that problem a little, then the kids will become less so.

If you mean a kid who acts like a decent human being, then I have no problems at all.

Seen as I (Apparently) am a 'kid' who sometimes uses a mic...
You are stereotyping! We are not all like that. Most of us don't actually have mics.

You do know he's on about kids WITH mics right? And their misuse of the mic.

As for me, they are pretty annoying and unpleasant for the ear. You know? Like what everyone else has said already.

Yeah, I know.
It seemed he was on about all kids in general too. But anyway, I am a kid with a mic, nobody has ever complained about me being annoying. Same with my friends who have mics.

Sorry Fallen-Angel Risen-Demon, I didn't mean all kids in general, In fact in the eyes of older people I am probably viewed as a kid. I've asked my friends and they've agreed that our voices aren't annoying either even though we've probably just grown after puberty.

I'm tired of running into the bossy, foul mouthed ones when playing an adult game, like Left 4 Dead 2. I hate it when they pop on daddy's account while the parent(s) are at work, the bar, or with the babysitter.

As soon as they get their adrenaline flowing, their shrill voices are like broken glass in everybody's ears. Seriously guys, your squeaks could be made into military-grade weaponry.

Next thing I know, the med-kit hogging, bossy, foul mouthed, whiny little gits are shouting commands at the whole team, friendly-firing everybody, and complaining when we leave them to the tender graces of the hunter.

Seriously, the parents of these children deserve a smack in the chops. Honest to god, I ran into a six year old two days ago on L4D2. Who the hell lets their kindergartner play a game like that?!?

Kids, if you're going to play a game like this, KEEP THE MICS OFF. Let us think that you just stink at the game. Don't add more insult to the injury that you're creating for yourself.

I'm not even going to go into the ESRB rating. If a parent can't even be bothered to watch their children, there isn't a chance in hell they'll look at the rating.

I actually enjoy listening to them.

Thing is, when they get killed, they ***** and whine, and if you`re on the other team, all you need to do is completely kick their ass in the game, and they`ll be sure to let loose a string of swear words in their hilarious whiny high pitched voice. If it gets that annoying, turn the volume down. Worst case scenario, just mute and ignore them.

That deal is clearly meant for adults. I suspect that watching the movies in succession, starting with the Carebears one, is the intended experience.

OP: The only time I've encountered this was when I was playing Team Fortress 2. Some guy who could not have been older than 10 was getting really agitated about no one wanting to heal him or something. His squeaks quickly descended in quality of coherence until he was just screeching "fuck" over and over, before getting kicked. Fun times.

I used to kinda hate kids with mics. But onetime while playing ArmA II one of these kids joined the match. He then joined our TeamSpeak server and he had a mic. First I was like "Oh GOD NO!!" but he turned out to be a very good teamplayer. He didn't yell at all, was very friendly with everyone.... My world just turned upside down that day

This is why i never play with out one of my friends, when we run into them we make fun of them for a few minuets in the lobby and then mute them from then on, because they never have a good rebuttle to our remarks on their annoyence and squeeky voices.

i dont think its that annoying, i was playing RDR and this guy was calling me and my freind all sorts of names so we kept killing him and we got to the mexican fort and kept killing him with the cannons. he called me gay and i said "are you asking me out?" it really pissed him off, after that he challanged me to a 1 on 1 at MW2. i accepted and created a game on wasteland and gave myself bling, coldblood, ninja with a silenced, heartbeat m21 ebr and a silenced tac knife M9. i kept hiding and then ambushing him he then invited his freind and i was still killing both of them

it depends on my mood really

especially if you have 2 kids who annoy eachother and a troll just antagonizing both of them
happend in a game of the hidden:source it was so funny

Usually I mute them. Not a big deal. Although I keep ingame voice chat completely disabled half the time. Plus, I rarely play online games with anyone but friends.

EDIT: I myself have a pretty shit sounding voice so I usually avoid talking on the microphone
