Well to be honest, the only reason I don't play it is because I can't stand the art style. So unless you share that same opinion, then I can't really give a concrete recommendation.

It's a great game. It isn't the best RPG out there, but it's still well worth your time and money. I say go for it.

It's not too good. I got as far as the second major town/mission hub before losing interest. It looks like WoW (not strictly a bad a thing in itself), plays like WoW but with voice acting and no other players. The story is interesting and original but badly paced badly. It has no urgency or relevance because it can safely be ignored the instant one finishes the prologue.

The level up system is functional and is also basically from WoW. Add 15% to daggers or 5% protection from fire per level, etc. The combat is alright, stealth system sucks and loot is uninspired.

Conclusion: Play Skyrim instead. If you want an open-world RPG Skyrim is the undisputed best title. While the main story can be just as easily ignored, you have the guilds, daedric shrines, mods and most importantly, Fus Ro Dah! :)

Totally worth it. Most people that I've shown the game to say something along the lines of "pshh like a shit skyrim". Personally, I see it like a glorious combination of WoW (graphics), skyrim (open worldness, be whatever you want to be) and devil may cry (combat). Worth your money.

Wait for a price drop, it's an okay game but kinda boring. I still haven't finished it and since I bought Dark souls, I probably won't be finishing it anytime soon.

It's fun, there's a lot of content, it's very pretty, the main plot isn't bad. I like the gnomes. Not amazing, but you'll certainly find plenty to keep you entertained. Recommended if you want an RPG / time sink.

The main downside is there's too much content, actually; it's easy to overlevel on side quests and find yourself far too powerful for an area, making combat a chore rather than a challenge. In that situation you can pretty much faceroll. When you're the right level for an area the combat's a lot of fun, though. I found it most fun playing as a mage and taking a more tactical approach.

I've played this and enjoyed it I suppose, but I'm still going to have to say 'nay' because eventually your motivation to play it will just ween more and more, until you just don't want to play it at all.

Personally, the game play is perfectly fun.. but I was just bored silly when it came to the story.

As long as you don't mind doing endless fetch/kill quests and looking flashy while doing it. KOA:R floats that boat.

I really enjoyed it, so much so that it's my favourite game 3 months into this year.

It took me just shy of 60 hours to get through it and when you compare that to the 32 hours it took me to get through ME2 and ME3 back to back it is a good timekiller.

I am getting tired of short RPG's that take around 15 to 20 hours to get through (or 7 hours if you are Dungeon Seige 3) so it was nice to have a long RPG that wasn't Elder Scrolls or Fallout.

I like games that keep me going and that I will play again a few times. This is the only one recently, besides Skyrim, that will do that for me.

I have to agree that it is good but underwhelming and too easy. On the other hand it has the best crafting systems I have seen in a while in the blacksmithing, as it actually allowed you to make decisions and use extra loot(kinda sad that is all it takes these days). Probably worth the 30$ especially since it has a lot of potential that a sequel could bring out.

It's a fun game, the combat is the main draw, but the lore is pretty decent, and it feels like the olde schoole games of yore... like fable and WoW mixed... with a bit of GOW combat thrown in.

I love it.

The combat is very fun, albeit a bit too much on the easy side, I feel. The rest is kinda meh, including the story, the lore and the characters. There's nearly no originality there, it's all been done thousand times before. The way quests are designed feels very MMORPG-like and the inventory system is a total mess.
I'd give Amalur M for mediocre.

It's okay. Is it buy it when it hit's store shelves good? No. Is it buy it from the used game bargain bin in a few months good? Yes.

Imagine Fable but good, on steroids, with a pretty good story, lore and side quests straight from WOW.

Its solid, but a bit un-inspired. I've only played about 4 hours and still having fun with the combat and levelling system and the ability to break out the the traditional "Wizards wear robes" roles is something other games should take to heart. Running round in full plate beating things up with a Mage's staff still hasn't got boring, though I can imagine it wearing thin around the 10hr mark. I also really like the more cartoony graphics style compared to most other games (very Fable/Overlord).

The combats fun but super easy (the sword can stun-lock most foes from the word go), the creatures are identical no mater where you go. but the lore is quite interesting and kept me playing just to find more about the world and the land has more variety than its inhabitants. if you want story and interesting lore, buy it. if you want solid game play, go elsewhere (I would recommend dark souls if your in it for combat). so all in all a mixed batch
