I would really like to see that answers differ between male and female - then again, women on the internet? Unfug!
OT: I once kissed a man (in an effort to find out who kisses better, male or female) - does that count?

The Kinsey scale fails as most people will fluctuate between the poles at different times of their life. A lot of teenagers will edge towards three before returning to the poles as their self knowledge increases.

So you can only use it for points in time. And there's a a big difference between being a practising 0, a non-practising 0 and a non-practising X - though not an obvious difference.

3 - I'm straight down the line sexually, I don't really have a preference as both are great in different ways. Relationship wise I'd probably be ever so slightly closer to heterosexual as there are less guys who have what kind of personality I look for in a long term partner.

I'm bi, I know that much. As for where I am on the scale. Uhh, Medic?:

I don't think it's something that I can adequately quantify.

I would personally say I am around 2. I am mostly interested in women, but had several experiences with men when I was younger.

Nonsexual (X), because sex and all that is for people with spare time for actions and thoughts.
And no, it isn't just a low sex drive. And no, it isn't because of some earlier event in my life.
It just is the way I am, like some people are homosexual, or hetero, or pan, etc.

It depends if you felt some kind of attraction or arousal, sexual or otherwise. Just kissing a guy doesnt make you gay.

OT: if i had to push for a number on such a scale i'd probably say 2.

Never had any homosexual tendencies. Kissed a guy, but that was during a truth or dare.
He also looked like a girl.

We all have that one person[footnote]If you consider yourself mainly hetero or homosexual that is. Obviously, if your bi- or pan- there are a hell of a lot more than just one...[/footnote] we'd go gay/straight for, and if you don't you either are lying or just haven't found them yet.
Unlikely. We may have had them, or missed them; but to a lot of people there is the fear of the sexual process (Vagina Dentata, Edinakusesiphobia, Tocophobia or Genophobia[footnote]Google at your own risk[/footnote]) which will put them off experimenting. "Pure" heterosexual/homosexual is far more likely at older ages, because people have found out what suits them best - and will tend to stick with it.

I'm 5, but why is 6 not an option?
I believe it is... nobody has selected it yet.
I swear I added it. I can't check now I've voted.
Oh okay, that's probably it. It just seemed so odd that it wasn't there after I voted. I guess if someone picks it then you'll know. So, someone who likes guys more than me needs to pick 6, so then we'll know...
Huh. I appear to have been the first 6. Kind of shocking that there weren't any before me. Although I think it's kind of funny that you assumed it would be a man to pick, and it ended up being me instead.

OT: After a great deal of confusion in my teenage years, I can safely say that I have absolutely no desire to engage in any kind of sexual acts with a man. Just the thought is pretty repulsive. I don't hate men or anything, I just really really really don't want them in my bed.

0, this test seems like it would be more for bisexuals, as they can have the tendency to prefer men or women, or both the same, it seems to me anything other than 0 makes you bisexual or homosexual because you still have the incidence of homosexuality

Yes, I definitely agree. People evolve. But I don't think that matters to the scale. You are what you are in the moment. There's nothing about the scale that says YOU MUST STICK TO YOUR PLACE BITCHES.

I definitely agree, if I had more possible poll options I would be there.
I don't think experimentation, sexual acts, anything like that means anything. I want to know which sex you are attracted to. If you're not attracted to the same sex, that's that. If you kissed a guy, you can still not be attracted to guys.
Point is, it's how you feel, not what you do.

I reckon I'm a one. It would take something pretty exception to make me take the leap to a relationship with a man, but I would rule it out.

It's odd to see the Kinsey scale is so popular on the internet. It has a fascinating history, Kinsey practically coined the term bisexuality in the professional sense and was perhaps one of the most progressive psychosocioligists ever, but his work is crude and prudish by today's standards. Still a big hero of mine though.

If you're single and not wanting a relationship, it's very hard to tell between a 0,6 or X though. Your number often depends on what's available, therefore making the scale unreliable.

I wouldn't claim to be 100% heterosexual in the sense that I'm immune to homoromantic thougts and such, but I don't exactly find it appropriate to describe myself as "incidentally homosexual".

0.5, I guess.
Is just about where I am. I can be emotionally attracted to men easily and wouldn't give a flat-out "No" to a guy who was interested in me if they were really something special, but it's just much easier for me to be romantically and sexually attracted to women.
Pretty much the same here. Though honestly, the only guy I'd go gay for is Nathan Fillion (of course, 90% of this site would, so that's not saying much).

I lie somewhere between 5 and 6, but I went with 6 since I've never kissed a guy.
I find certain men handsome (or cute), but not in an "attractive" way. Could never go further than a familiar hug with one.

If this would have been asked six months ago I would have said zero, but at this point in time it's some complicated spot between 1 and 2.
