hey i realize they are completely different games but i was just wondering which one do u think is better
why did u come to this then if u think both sucksneakypenguin said:Neither, LA noir is kinda meh just something seems off about it, portal is all of 5 hours single player with insane loading times.
Because it is a relatively open ended question which in everyday conversation would lend itself to such an answer.devon kruse said:Why did you come to this then if you think both sucksneakypenguin said:Neither, LA noir is kinda meh just something seems off about it, portal is all of 5 hours single player with insane loading times.
In your opinion. We haven't even got to to sep-dec sweet zone for releases and judging by the reviews portal 2 is mildly too flawed to be a front runner for goty.Conza said:By leaps and bounds Portal 2, was always going to be, and always will be the superior minded gamers game of choice, definitively, and Portal 2 will likely become GOTY 2011.
If you don't mind me asking outside of the facial animation tech it wasn't exactly earthshattering for innovation. A 3d point and click adventure with interspersed action, and a flawed interrogation mechanic, different yes, innovative... its a toss up.valleyshrew said:LA Noire is actually innovative and ambitious. Portal 2 is a well polished generic linear game with incredibly over-rated narrative and a good gameplay gimmick.
You don't write code do you? You're post is all squished up, so I cbb editting it into a nice format.sneakypenguin said:In your opinion. Anyway, you're comment that it won't be a front runner, I disagree, I think unless Mass Effect 3 goes 'SURPRISE!' in December and we all get that, I doubt anything else will beat Portal 2, I will admit, there is potential, just not LA Noire (in a sane world).
Portal 2 was exactly everything we all wanted and more, so I doubt anyone could complain, beyond the lack of a run button, and that it doesn't go forever.
LA Noire, which I have played, should be rated as a 7/10, and if you check metacritic* the user score was only 74/100 even if the reviewer score was 89, 74 is what the game deserves, and thats at a stretch. i hope you realise portal 2s use reviews were 7.8http://www.metacritic.com/game/xbox-360/portal-2

We still have Deus Ex, Diablo 3, Skyrim, arkham city, Last Guardian, skyward Sword among others. Plus Portal 2 has the misfortune of releasing earlier than any of those. Which I dare say will hurt its GOTY chances as it does with the oscars and movies.Conza said:snip

Could be, but Mass Effect 2 was releaed in January if I recall, and that must've won GOTY somewhere, epic game.sneakypenguin said:We still have Deus Ex, Diablo 3, Skyrim, arkham city, Last Guardian, skyward Sword among others. Portal two will make some GOTY's inevitably and rightfully so I just think that another more recent title shall take over in the gaming press's collective memory as the standout.
