So, there are some people that did not admit their defeat at the hands of Valve and still continue to act like whiny 5 year olds?

Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha!

That's all I have to say.
This.

I always felt like I got my moneys worth from L4D, and they did release new stuff and there's lot of user made maps for it so I don't really get what's the problem.

Valve games might at times feel short even lacking in content, except maybe TOB, but they're always polished to the max and end up being great value. Trust in Valve, The Valve is good. If they've ever had a weakness it's that their games take forever to come out ..but that's fixed now, right...

I won't be getting L4D2 right away, but not because I think it's not worth it, mostly because the community in L4D went downhill after it had been out for a while ..propably the same people responsible for the boycott... :p

What the hell?

Okay, as long as no one is calling my remarks invalid, I'm gonna say I'm in the right for now. Maybe it's for the best to avoid a flame war.

Said it before, I'll say it again: It's just a bunch of spoiled suburban kids who think they're entitled to years of extra content at no extra charge. They'll raise a fuss until the game comes out, then buy it because they don't have the attention span or the force of will to keep with a boycott when the game is actually available to play.

P.S. "21/10/09"? I didn't know that there were 21 months in a year. *chuckle* The correct format is MM/DD/YY
Not if you live in Australia. Besides, it makes more sense to go DD/MM/YY.
yep, as its kind of like the smallest time scale going up to the biggest
you wouldnt see a digital clock say MM/SS/HH, that would be stupid
OT: i would like this boycott to follow through, but i doubt it, especially if the original leaders have left, that would lose a lot of respect

A European was SPAMing an anti-American rant last night, one of his points was that we order dates "wrong."

I can understand if they want to get "more bang for their buck", but we've all known about this sequel for a while, so I doubt this boycott is going to go anywhere.

All I get from this is "I live in America therefore America is the world".

I hate people like you.

Yes, well, apparently none of you can read, because if you could, you would have seen my follow-up post after my first wave of trolls.

I'm sorry everybody, I was not aware of the fact that this format is used in Europe, America has a nice way of brainwashing its inhabitant's to think that their way is right. Please excuse my lobotomized ignorance. I'm moving to Australia.

So the leaders, the ones who inspired them all, give up on the boycott, and the ignorant followers refuse to give up on it? I think it just makes them feel important. Someone go send some zombies after them...
Doubtful. I think that they saw how the leaders of the orig got treated and are trying to get a piece of the action. Or they realize that thier fearless leaders sold out for 2 round trip plane tickets and are genuine in thier beliefs. They can say what they want but I doubt Valve showed them much more than we the general public with a computer already know.

Although Valve did keep thier word with Crash Course. That should have been the end of the boycott.

If the leaders of a boycott say the boycott is a bad idea, then seriously that should be a message. The boycotters are just whiny kids who think that they'll make a difference.

Really? In america (or at least in California) we use DD/MM/YY.

OT: I lost interest in this boycott the moment it started, its just a waste of time seeing as Valve always wins.

not in Europe DD/MM/YY in my opinion kind of makes more sense just cause it follows the order of smallest to largest if nothing else

Sounds a bit elitist, don't you think? Not every country strives to be like the US. The "correct" format for us Brits, and the majority of countries, is DD/MM/YY, which was in place before you made your format.

OT: It won't work. People should just accept that the game is coming out, and appreciate that.

I bought the first L4D, and I'm going to buy L4D2.

Just because I bought the first one doesn't mean I have the right to get free content. And from what I've experienced, Valve have always high quality games, so I don't mind buying the newest release.

And if everyone's boycotting L4D2, they might as well boycott all future COD games, or any sequel games (if they've purchased a previous one).

I don't want them releasing a new game every year for $60 instead of just DLC updating one. So, if they promise to refrain from making L4D3 for a few years then I'll stop boycotting L4D2, but as far as I know there hasn't been any word on L4D2 being the only sequel planned for the next few years.

Yes, yes I do. Franchises are better sometimes. Oh, did I mention Borderlands = Trilogy?
Oooh, new planets, or just new characters?

How many new guns will the next one have? :D

EDIT - Ah yeah, right, on topic bits... Every time I hear about this boycott, it makes me want to pre-order L4D2 just that little bit more. It really just sounds like a bunch of spoilt kids whining...

Well you obviously don't know about much of Europe then, just because it is different doesn't mean its wrong */chuckle*.

OT: I wondered if many of the boycotters would still be pissed off even after the head of the boycott met with Valve.

Well crash course and the survival DLC was just a way to get us to shut up and keep playing... it wasn't what they promised... but still I know a lost cause when I see one.
