Poll: Left 4 dead (2) character roster

I prefer to keep the old characters, the new ones look too much like rednecks and look poorly developed.
I dunno. I never really thought that character development would be important in a game like Left 4 Dead. It's a game about zombies; seems silly to give a crap about who you're playing as.
The characters in Left 4 Dead 2 are as follows:
Left to right: Nick, Rochelle, Coach & Ellis.
I believe the original 4 may make an appearance at some point though.
I'm fine with the change in characters, due to the new setting.
UPDATE: Voice actors:
- Rochelle - 26. She's trying to be a radio / TV presenter and Zombies ain't gonna stop her.
Coach - 39. Blew a knee playing college football. Teaches Health Class at the local school.
Ellis - 21. He dropped out of school and repairs cars, remains constantly enthusiastic throughout.
Nick - 35ish. Ex-con, swindled tourists on gambling cruises, he's just trying to get out of town.
Left to right: Nick, Rochelle, Coach & Ellis.

Well I really think that the new 4 characters look quite..bland.
Lets compare!

The great thing about them 4 is theay are so stereotypical it hurts, and not to mention "colourfull".
Now the new 4:
They really don't look that stereotypical(apart from the guy right next to girl) and less "colourfull".
In a fight for looks the original 4 would win cause they stand out of the crowd more. Cause...well...it looks like the worst team line up for a zombie apocalypse. The Army Old guy, the High school Girl, the Clerk and the Biker.
The new 4 don't really stand out apart from many one guy...You have some kind of a thug taken from the worst Travolta movie and that really looks like Edward Norton now that I think of, a black girl which seems to have 16 years from that picture,but!, aparently is some kind of news reporter(Which you can't tell from that picture.), a school teacher(he is called Coach the only character name I know) and the Scout from TF2 who is a mechanic(which you cannot tell from that picture.). Edward Norton and the Scout have almost the same colour scheme in their shirts, the coach shirt is beyond awfull, and the girl...actually the only good designed character but its missing the stereotype. Valve says she is a reporter but it doesn't give that feeling.
The original 4 you look at them and you imidiatly recognize and know what stereotype they are.
To improve the new cast, the Scout and the Coach could use some revamping, some changes to the lady and keep Edward Norton.

I'm pretty sure Valve said that you could play as the original 4 survivors if you bought Left4Dead.
By that do they mean, you have to possess a copy of L4D, as in a save file, as you start L4D2, or do you literally need to purchase L4D and redeem some kind of coupon?Internet Kraken said:

What would be cool though is if Valve made it so you have to beat like 10 campaigns and then at the very end you unlock and 11th and at the end of THAT one you either get to play as the original characters or you get rescued by the original characters. Boom. I just earned a job at Valve.
