Connect a Xbox gamepad to your usb port. Problem solved.
What would be the point in buying the game for PC if he is going to use the xbox controller?
Play the game with updates, free new content and without 14 year olds calling you a fag for not killing the witch they disturbed fast enough. Cheaper to buy it off Steam too.

Also, I bought it for PC.

I have an aging pc and an 360 with HD-Tv and I chose to play on the 800*600 resolution on my computer. Reason was to play with my friends with an headset, but I also think it is easier to play on the pc. Not that I have anything agaisnt fps on consoles, I play halo regularly and I like aiming with the stick (I had more problems finishing H-L2 on PC than on consoles on the hard difficulty), but I think this game has better aim on pc, just like team fortress had.

I'm condemning myself to eternal mistrust on this forum but I brought the 360 version, because I don't like PC controls. Sure, you better aim with the mouse, but the keyboard just feels weird to me when playing games. There not built for it.

Possibly better graphics, better friends on Steam then on XBL, option to use mods but finally and most importantly because I got L4D on the PC and he wouldn't be able to play with me if he got it for the 360.

Reasons not to get it for PC, if your computer is fairly old and can't run Source engine games too smoothly, better XBL friends.

well I checked it out on my pc and my xbox and I personally would go for the xbox360 . Since aiming is not as important as in other shooter games and it just feels better with the controller. .....Well it could also be because I just picked up the shotgun the whole time and waited to the zombies came up to me. If you like your pc more get the game for that but if you like your xbox 36o more get it for that.

I can only run it on very low on PC but PC all the way. The extended value from the SKU and Modders will be tremendous.

No, its not. Everyone I play against would have better aim.

Plus, Not as many mics on PC, which is a real pain in the arse. And anyway, I played the demo on the PC...And it looked terrible. I would have to update my computer a lot to get anywhere near as good as the 360, and I just don't have the money.

I'm sorry Groovy Pants, I know where going to disagree on this, but the age of the PC is coming to an end. Consoles are the future.

BritishDude, Some people I've played with online said they were using a controller. I couldn't tell. If you're good with said peripheral, then you should be fine.

There is also the frag-fx controller, a hybrid of the Mouse and Gamepad.

I prefer Xbox for 5 reasons:
1) My mouse sucks
2) 95% of people or more have a mic on the Xbox
3) My computer sucks
4) Have a lot of friends that I gained from playing TF2 on the Xbox
5) I'm used to playing FPS's, and games in general, on the Xbox, and I'm damn good at it now, with over 400 hours on TF2, but that is (mostly) useless if I go to different controls...

...6 of those aren't exclusive...

Owning both and having played both a good deal... they're both good. Assuming mod content the PC version wins my vote as the better one, but as it stands right now they're are exactly equal games... the 360 version may be one of the finest ports ever made.

In terms of quality and fun, yep. My only complaint with the xbox version is the placement of the button for crouch... but you get used to it after a few minutes.

PC: Come for the ease of customization, stay for the Mods.

Seriously. If some of the quality independent maps I've seen for Counter-Strike: Source and Day of Defeat are any indication, Left4Dead is going to see a nice selection of user-made "movies" come out in very short order. Especially since so many mappers already have years of experience working with Hammer, Valve's map editor.

Of course, this also means we'll see a boatload of crappy "iceworld" type maps too, but variety is the spice of life.
