No as while Portal was good it didn't do anything special and puzzles were actually really simple and not requiring much thought or action. While the atmosphere was great and it was an overall good game it is not good enough to hyped to high heaven.

You don't buy AAA titles unless they're £15 or less?

Portal 2 will, I think, be £60.
Why are you pulling figures out of your arse?

OT: There needs to be no comparison of Twilight and Portal 2, ever.

I don't think it'll ever be as good as something like Baldur's Gate 2, which is actually my 'Twilight' (as you so eloquently put it).

You just won.

OT:
I honestly don't want to be as annoying as those people were. I'd say we enjoy the game when we play it, share the news with people who might want to know, and leave it at that.

There are better games.

Name one?

DUKE NUKEM FOREVER!

But seriously, you can't name a game that's better than a game that hasn't been released yet. Hold this topic until the game actually comes out.

Portal was a great game, but all the new crap their throwing in sounds kinda gimmicky to me. plus, i dont think anything will ever surpass perfection (Heroes of Might and Magic 3).

if Baldurs Gate 2 is so awesome, why cant it run on Vista, for gods sake? i bought it from a pile of old games yesterday, but everytime i light it up, it crashes (even when opening it with windows 98, 2k and XP).
Runs fine on Vista, for me.

I don't buy games that I'll play once, for a few hours, for more than £15.

How many hours is a few? And wouldn't you download any user-created maps? Huh.

Not to mention the co-op.

Nothing must ever be hyped and spoken of to the same extent as Twilight. Part of the reason (though by no means the only reason) that Twilight is hated is because people always talk about, and reference it, and try to hold it up as a fantastic work.

Portal 2 will not be the greatest game ever of all time. It maybe has the potential to be the best game made so far in gaming's history, but assuming we all live past 2012 [sub]joke[/sub] then the people of the future will occasionally take off their full-VR helmets in which they are actually involved in a world wide Matrix where everyone is a superhero, and laugh at how quaint we were for suggesting that a game on the PC and 360 could ever be the greatest game of all time.

And of course, need I remind you that the more you hype this up, the more disappointing it will be? Even if it does turn out to be a fantastic game (I have my many reservations but I won't air them here), if you hype it too much it won't live up to the hype. Because nothing can ever live up to the hype of Twilight.

In conclusion, no, and using Twilight to try and support your argument is usually a very good reason why your argument is unsupported. Twilight infects and destroys everything it touches.

Yes but with a caveat. Let it be our Twilight Zone. Seen as a pinnacle and goal for all others to strive to without copying.

I gotta say, that cake joke was actually an original one and quite good.
Yeah, but the 50 billion fanboys that won't shut up about it is another story...-_-

It's like listening to a good song on the radio played to death just for the attention.

"Didn't we have some fun though? Remember when the platform was sliding into the fire pit then I said, "Goodbye." You were like, "(Slow mode) NOOOOOOO WAAAAY!"(/slow mode) and then I was all, "We pretended we were going to murder you."....That was great."

There, no mention of the cube or the song.....

About it being Twilight, I hope the hell not. No romance for this bloody game. Just an hour or so of fun and then I move on to another game. That is, unless they increase difficulty and/or increase level size.

Oh I'm sure it'll be a great game but it's best not to get too overhyped about these things.

No.

Because I like to think I'm above that sort of thing, and I also didn't think Portal 1 was all the great. I mean, I enjoyed it, but I wouldn't call it the greatest game ever created.

Plus, Portal 1 already got that treatment, and it got old in about 10 seconds.

No one's going to make anything on par with Valves maps. Co-op would be crap in Portal.
