I loved having fixed levels for enemies. In morrowind, I remember one of the first dungeons I stumbled upon happened to be a cult of the sixth house place, with all those weird demons and stuff. I ran out of there for fear of my life and vowed to never go back there. With scaled leveling you will never get any "oh crap, gotta run!" moments because you can beat every enemy. Sure once you outlevel every enemy you're basically omnipotent, but by that time you're probably invested into the game and nothing will scare you anyways, regardless of their level.
EDIT: forgot about items scaling as well, in morrowind going through a dungeon and the finding an epic item was just so gratifying, especially a daedric one. Skullcrusher was one of my favorite finds. In oblivion all items scaled with your level so whatever you found, even if it was an epic item, would become useless to even basic finds at later levels. Which is was so disappointing. Skyrim was the same way. Morrowind was the last awesome elder scrolls game, the others after have only been good.
