Conservative. To sum up a broad generalization of the extremes in each side: Conservatives want to follow strict rules only to break them later while Liberals hate moral codes and want to run around doing anything they want just because they can.

Neither and I refuse to define myself by such twisted and backwards terms that ultimately amount to the same thing in the end. Also I hate extremism.
The problem with discussions of politics is it is based on false premises. There is a certain group(the group I happen to associate with) that isn't regularly represented when it comes to political discussions. Here's what I mean:
When people talk about the "right" and "left" wings, they're talking about a difference between fascism and communism. A lot of people say they're moderates because they don't want strong government of either sort. The problem with this is that it doesn't involve people like myself who want small government no where near fascism or communism.
However, when I talk about things like the "right" and "left" wings, I think of it as a scale of the size of government. On the left side is 100% government or communism. On the right is 0% government or anarchy. I, personally, am around the 15-20% area. Very little government. Powerful enough that it can stop crimes and defend the people, but not so powerful that it can realistically ruin someones life or do a lot of damage if corrupt. Unfortunately, most discussions on politics are in the range of 70-80%. I honestly see very little difference between the Republicans and the Democrats in America.
In my opinion, governments should not even run the education system, but leave it mostly in the hands of private people. In fact, I may be so crazy that it's possible that I would even leave things such as the fire departments in the hands of volunteers and charity organizations. Not the police, though. Heavens no.

i'm liberal but i vote for whomever is the best candidate, which in Canada means a liberal person no matter which party they are part of
