Vote on whether you think LBP should be ported to any other consoles, and maybe give some input on the subject.
I would personally like it to be ported to the 360. It would stil look really good, and it would still be really fun.

No, it should not be ported to any console, nor can it be ported to any console as it is published by Sony and Media Molecule founder Mark Haley/Alex Evans him/themselves have stated that it is impossible to port it on the 360 because of lack of a harddrive as standard.

If you've ever said "The PS3 has no good games!" or seen someone say it, then this argument is basically the "MGS4 porting to 360!" only with LBP switched in with MGS4. Let the PS3 have it's games, and deal with your own.

Sorry if I sound pissy, it's just annoying when people want a game that's exclusive to one console go over to their console (this is more noticable with people begging for PS3 games for some reason) and they can't just let it go.

EDIT:

Hmm...Perhaps to the PC?

No port to PC on there? I couldn't cast my vote then. Seems like a great place for it.
I actually find those statement halarious, actually! :D

So you guys basically want a dumbed down verson of Gary's Mod that's intended for consoles anyway? I love LBP, but that's basically what it is, Garry's Mod for consoles.

I'm not trying to be a dick, I just find that funny.
THe PC doesn't need a simple modding tool for it, it has dozens of those already.

I voted it should not be ported it I a play station exclusive and should stay like that ( and it would be impossible for it to be ported as its published and funded by SCE)

Personally, I think that exclusives should always remain exclusives. Like when I first bought my Playstation 1, I bought it so I could play Tony Hawk Pro Skater. My N64 didn't have it, and I doubted it would be coming there.. almost a year later it comes out for N64, almost improved in every way for the exception of videos. I felt like I wasted a good sum of my own well earn cash because a developer didn't keep their word.

Granted, my Playstation became my most used console shortly after when i found myself indulged in games like Syphon Filter, Metal Gear Solid, and Gran Turismo.. but for a short while, I was pretty pissed with Activision and Neversoft for lying to me.

So when I see games like Bioshock, possibly MGS4, and some other titles, I just get upset that developers (or publishers like Konami) go back on their on screen notices like "This game is EXCLUSIVELY for the PS3". These are just my thoughts though, on the other side, I don't believe any games should be exclusives except for the Company Mascots like Mario, Master Cheif (I suppose), and Crash Bandicoot (when he was the face of Sony Entertaintment).

In short, no, LBP shouldn't be ported anywhere. They advertised it as an exclusive, they should stay true to their word.

EDIT: Into further over-thinking, I find myself wondering... Who is SCE 'mascot' character now? Sackboy? Rachet & Clank? Nathan Hale? Solid Snake?

I'm a 360 owner, and I, personally, don't want to see it ported. Sony needs a good exclusive game to compete in the market (I don't own a PS3, but I am still a fan of Sony).

Well, the way I see exclusives, is if something is "exclusive" it should stay that way - it will feel at home. If something feels out of place or it started off multiplatform but isn't on any other platforms yet, then feel free to move it.

Also, I think a PSP version of LBP is coming.

Sackboy is supposed to be the official Sony mascott, so that's another reason why LBP should remain exclusive. So, yeah, I agree with most of the things you said in your original post.

It should be ported to all home consoles and PCs but the minimalist control scheme and light hearted themes would work on the Wii as I understand it.

The likeliness of a port to anything but another Sony platform is zero considering they own LBP. The deal is such that Sony can replace Media Molecule as the company doing LBP with one of their internal teams, since MM really doesn't own the game.

Media Molecule is free to do games on any platform, though.

Port it to all of them. It's not like all the platforms can't handle it... yes, even the Wii can, as fairly decent physics have been done in a few games so far.

heck if it were up to me all the good games would be available on all the systems. I have a Wii and a 360 so LBP being on the PS3 kind of sucks. I'm glad PS3 owners can play it and I hope they thoroughly enjoy it but I feel that paying for a 3rd console is just too steep of a price.
