I try not to lie to impress others and I try to be as honest as possible. Whether I manage to do this all the time or not is something I often debate with myself and I probably end up lying at times. I try hard to make sure I won't lie about achievements or skills but some others things it slips up or I'm just not paying enough attention so I give a default response to some things.

Many people lie and I know I do at times as well but I try hard not to and how successful I am at telling the truth is something I will only see as the years go on. I try not to and hope that I don't lie to impress others but I know I probably do at times and I'm willing to be honest with myself about that.

ha i find it laughabl that over half the people have said no...obviously these people have never tried chatting a girl/boy up before its hard to do it with wht god gave you so you have to bend the truth a little, flat out saying you wont lie is a lie in itself

If you need to lie about being impressive, I would say you have more problems than lying in the first place.

There is a great irony in polling people on their honesty. Answering yes makes you more honest, but means you are a person less likely to lie.

I always lie to get the ladies. That's how it's got to be done! /sarcasm

I don't lie as much as leave out the parts of my life where I look dumb.

That's a very nice way to put it. It's still essentially the proof, it's just some finer details are either omitted or skewed a little.

"is the most fun a girl can have"

meh.

anyway, it's not always necessarily their problem but alright..

I'm a fan of being honest because, let's face it, if the girl I met durign school hadn't actually spent a year in Israel I'd be a lot less enamored.

I would lie though. Because I'm an asshole.

I'd lie, but it'd probably be the types of lies that are really obvious and are funny because everyone can see that it's a lie. Otherwise I would try to avoid lying. It would probably eventually come and bite me in the ass. At the worst possible time. Although I'm sure I would lie if I knew that there was no way that anyone would find out. Like EVER.

Course I have no qualms about stretching the truth, omiting critical information, spinning the facts, or anything else that stops just short of lying.

The honest people are those who admit that they would lie?!? And the lying people are the ones who say they would stay honest?!? Argh! The paradox!

It depends. I wouldn't lie about something extraordinary, like saying where I work(unless it was classified. Shhhhhhh....) but if it's just something small, like "You look good in that dress." or "Sure, I love country music.", then I don't see much harm in it.

Yeah if it's someone I'm not going to see again why the hell not make them think I'm an Olympic level athlete and in fact an ambassador for world peace who owns multiple houses across the world. And has been to space. If they're still around at that point I mention I eat people they usually go by then.

Lying to impress someone would be a wasted effort.

If i lie to impress someone i intend to have some part in my life inevitably they will learn the truth. Which could kill whatever relationship created.

If i have no intention of that person being a part of my life then why would i give two shits about impressing them.

Either way its a bad choice or just pointless.

I wouldn't lie, but stretch the truth? Possibly.

Honesty is so much easier though, and I'm fairly comfortable with the things I've experienced in my life. I'm open and willing to talk about most anything.

I wouldn't necessarily tell a straight out load of bullshit. Just merely exaggerated some things. Not major details, just a small part of a funny story I know or something.

Telling the truth in the short run dosnt seem that great but in the long term people will trust you more if your honest.
And vise versa with Lieing: in the short run it seems great, but later on it can bite you on the arse.
