I ask for your opinion on this aspect of some FPS online games
Here's my example
Playing CoD 4 with the LMG RPD I was having a generally fun time with this gun as I managed to hold off attacks in certain key spots on certain maps (call me a camper if you must
) with the only thing I had to worry about was the slow ass reloading time. It was generally a fun experience but after a while I wanted to play something different so I started up BF 2142.
As I entered a Camp Gilbasomething map (Infantry map) I decided to play the support class remembering playing CoD 4, untill my first fire fight when I remembered I could only fire for a short time before I overheated the gun and had to watch as I was gunned down mercilessly. I was playing with the default support gun so I decided to use the HMG unlock I acquired figuring I'd be able to take targets down faster before I overheated but still to no avail and it was really frustrating not being able to defend key areas from multiple opponents before my gun was rendered useless for a few crucial seconds.
So it got me thinking whether having a realistic overheating mechanism on LMG's is a good thing or just a pain in the ass...your thoughs?
