Hmmm... I was the "owner"(well more like renter) of a mac a year or two ago, it was given to me as a tool to run a few apps on and was supposed to be a way to regulate what I did with the software that was installed on it. I cant say I was overly impressed with it, though. It obviously was going for the very artistic feel and as a result looked great, but performance wise it was kinda slow and had a nasty tendency to freeze up on me. Granted, it wasn't their newest model, but it apparently was worth quite a lot because the insurance plan thing I signed when It was given to me had the laptop itself placed at around $2,000, and the software on it like $3,000 or something ridiculous.
Thats was obviously not the only time Ive ever used a mac, but its the only time period where I was able to use it for months on end and explore its potential.
I have messed around with the newest macbook and it seemed to be even more stylish, but the price tag on it was large enough to turn my attention away.
For the time being however, Ill stick with my cheap labtop that runs Red Hat, and my custom PC.
