The only thing I like about Mac is the OS design. It is better than Windows. Its a good machine for someone's first computer or someone who only plays a few games.

There are a lot of things I hate about Macs. Chief among them are

- Overpriced.
- No customization ( except for the MacPro a bit ).
- Apple's lazy ass drivers.
- Really snobby Mac people, aka iFags.

PC guys can be a bit snobby too but not even come close to the Mac ones.

As someone said, the reason why Mac is the standard in graphic design/audio/video is cos it was one before. Its the design of the application that people have gotten used to over the years that makes them continue using it.

Windows can also be crash proof provided u know what you are doing.

I've a mac, I love it, I hate its price tag, I love the lack of malware and its simplicity but at the end of the day, I can write my assignments and I can surf the web, job done.

MACS WORK!. I purposely avoided vista but even on xp I get several crashes/bugs each day. the only reason I put up with windows is because I have to, to play decent games.

if macs had all the macs PC's did I would so be there. macs just work plain and simple and they work for a long time. you have to have so much know how to cope with everyday windows life and its constant bitching, even though I know quite alot I'd rather not have to put it to use. if this onlive thing works and isn't bullshit or too expensive I will ditch my custom built £700 gaming beast buy a uber light mac laptap and never look back.

Hmmm... I was the "owner"(well more like renter) of a mac a year or two ago, it was given to me as a tool to run a few apps on and was supposed to be a way to regulate what I did with the software that was installed on it. I cant say I was overly impressed with it, though. It obviously was going for the very artistic feel and as a result looked great, but performance wise it was kinda slow and had a nasty tendency to freeze up on me. Granted, it wasn't their newest model, but it apparently was worth quite a lot because the insurance plan thing I signed when It was given to me had the laptop itself placed at around $2,000, and the software on it like $3,000 or something ridiculous.

Thats was obviously not the only time Ive ever used a mac, but its the only time period where I was able to use it for months on end and explore its potential.
I have messed around with the newest macbook and it seemed to be even more stylish, but the price tag on it was large enough to turn my attention away.

For the time being however, Ill stick with my cheap labtop that runs Red Hat, and my custom PC.

Overpriced crap. That's what I think.

They are perfect for people who are too stupid to operate regular PCs though.

The only computer I've owned have been macs. In fact I'm typing this on a mac. I've thought they were awesome until I got into computer gaming and now they seem useless. That is why I'm building a computer and I'll probably only use my mac for Xcode and Garage Band.

Fuck Macintosh. They can kiss my ass if they think I'll buy anything of theirs after (in no uncertain terms) call everyone that uses a PC boring and dorky.

Yeah, too cool for me, Jobs. Run Softimage? Run 3DS Max? No? Fuck off then.

No, I really don't like Macintoshes.

And I'll add- my first computer was a G3 and that damned thing used to lock up every 5 minutes. In the eight years since going to PC I can count the hard crashes on one hand.

Macs are just another brand of PCs these days. Since they use the same hardware, run the same software... well, the only thing a "Mac" really is is a brand of PCs with a different OS on them. Even that can be changed.

I don't really care about Macs.
They seem to be popular in college though; everyone carrying their little Macbooks or whatever they're called around. I even know a girl who has a big Mac desktop in her dorm room.

For some reason they're popular, but I don't understand why. I've tried typing on them and all of my useful alt+ shortcuts were destroyed and it was just ridiculous.

I've no malice towards the Macs or towards their popularity though.
As long as they stay away from me, you better know I'll keep from them. Gladly.

This is what one of my many friends thinks about Macs:

(I've had to delete a few of the swears in this too where the * are).

"Macintoshes * SUCK. They are laggy, stuffy. require passwords every minute and have an annoying habit of refreshing every couple of minutes. The internet is next to inaccessible on a Mac. Whoever uses a Mac is a complete, pure, unadulterated homosexual retard that gets their kicks by * onto a heater and then enjoying the electrical shocks.

Just incase you can't tell, the fucking University has stuck me with a lab full of IMacs. Big * mistake."

Jeez.../ your friends have issues... it is just a computer

I use a mac and I enjoy it, but I hate when people use the terms "mac" and "pc" since a mac is a pc... but whatever.

I use Boot Camp for games and use my OSX partition for everything else. I like it for its simplicity and common sense features. Windows is okay too but it's not really as fun to use for some reason.

Three words: Can't Build Yourself.
This is basically the main down side for me. My mac is a laptop and I don't intend to modify any laptop I buy. I would never buy a desktop mac though.
