"They are basically just PCs with a different operating system that has its pros and cons over windows that you also have to pay more for the hardware."

^Should be added to the poll imo.

If you really want to see the true purpose of this arguement, go watch "Mac Ad" on YouTube. And I don't mean the commercials. There's an animated clip (I believe by Dom Fera, the guy who made the Lazer Collection... but I'm not 100% sure). See it and be enlightened.

I work in animation and while for your average clueless dipshit a Mac is a rip off or bad for a real professional who knows something about computers the OS's software abstraction layer is a beautiful thing for workflow.

For your average user though a Mac is out of the question.

I have one that I rarely use because I just can't get used to closing windows from the left hand side.
Also it can't play TF2

I have a Mac and a PC. Personally, I prefer my Mac anyday over my PC. My PC is a desktop and I use it for just general online stuff. It's much better for gaming because of the compatibility, or writing papers, stories and things like that. Mainly because it's a bigger screen than that of my Macbook Pro.

But I do all my photography and graphic work I do and promotional stuff on my Macbook Pro.

There's advantages and disadvantages to each. Macs represent so much a smaller ratio in the computer world than a PC and therefore you don't have to shell out money every year for an antivirus.

Really it all narrows down to the major fact of what you want your computer for. If you're a hardcore gamer then you should probably go PC for compatibility sake. At least right now anyways. For graphics and video editing and things like that.. Go Mac.. You will not go wrong with that. If you want it for just general use then really it depends on which platform you like and if you want to pay for an antivirus every year or constantly be on the look out for virus's.

Grew up with them, and man they so sucked at gaming. :(

Been long years and was time to get a new system, so I compared prices. Sure, building your own rig from scratch can save money. But between Mac and a comparable Dell (needed for work, too) there wasn't much difference anymore since Intel was implemented.

So I just recently got me a MacPro and, with BootCamp, it's been a grand gaming experience. Though the standard graphics option lacked and sound wasn't too great until I upgraded for a Soundblaster PCI-e. Still, I love and hug my Mac. Running Vista when gaming but having the option to boot up MacOS for anything else.

PC seems a bit like LEGO for adults, it feels great when you get everything working as intended. But where you have to fight your PC every step of the way my Mac rather seems to work with me. Which ain't as challenging, but sure feels great. :)

I grew up on Microsoft and still think Macs are pretty slick. I don't own one, but I used them in college. They're not bad.

I work on various kinds of Macs everyday and I can't stand them. So pointlessly obtuse.

Plus, I've had more crashes on Macs than I have with PCs in the past 8 years or so.

I'm not a fan. Nice screens on iMacs, and the MacPros are alright when heavily upgraded, but otherwise I have very little good things to say about them.
