I want a PS3, but MAG is not one of the reasons. It's gonna disappoint. I'm calling it now.
We'll see.

I've played the beta, and it ran smoothly enough. Every game I was in featured competent allies and coordination. Let's just hope that sticks when it retails.

Once the masses get on any online game, coordination goes out the window. Why do you think so many people snipe?

Well I hate playing with over 10 people on the opposite side having over 100 enemies is too much.

So ME2

Again - we can only hope.

It was a bit comforting to know that, with so many people, we still cooperated and planned our actions.

But, like you said, coordination goes out the window when the masses are involved.*
[sub]*In most cases. I still find TF2 to be strategic, provided we aren't playing on 2Fort.[/sub]

Well, duh. The masses are too busy playing the newest "realistic" shooter to care. And MW2 will stay up there for years to come, too.

Why doesn't anyone just buy both like they used to? Why have one when you can have plenty?

"Either/or" questions suck. I much prefer "and" questions.
How can you have an "and" question?

Funny you should mention "realistic" and "newest shooter" in the same sentence, but that's for another time. :p

Post-internet crash edit: But my point still stands: Team Fortress 2, even with it's admittedly thriving community, is still able to retain the original concept. Or, atleast, it seems that way from the hundreds upon hundreds of games I've played.

Now, you could argue that TF2 is designed in such a way that being able to go rogue is impossible, but I would still chalk it up as an exception to the idea that coordination is dead when large groups enter the fray.

One question...how would you get MAG if it is for the PS3?
He doesn't say that he doesn't have a PS3, just that he'd be getting ME2 on the 360 rather than PC.

I was thinking about getting MAG when it came out, right up until I checked what the actual date for that was. No way I'm getting it on the same day ME2 comes out, maybe a week or two later.

Mass Effect 2, less 12 year olds screaming in your ear...
I bought a PS3 recently and haven't had this happen yet.
Your one of the lucky ones, or maybe I just play on Xbox Live too much...

both eventually but I am first getting mass effect 2, the first set up a great world for which a story could be told, while the gameplay wasn't the bright spot of the game it was enjoyable enough to get through the story. and the second game looks to improve the combat, while continuing the great story.

on the other hand Mag is a fun game(played the beta for a few months), whether or not it will have legs or not remains to be seen, and being an online only game it is very important that people keep playing the game, I plan on getting it probably in the summer time, when I could get it for cheaper, if the game has a decent amount of people still playing it.

Simple: "Should I get MAG and Mass Effect 2?"

He/she seems to be able to afford them, and is equally interested in each. Why torment yourself by choosing only one?

So the answer to the question can safely be: Yes.

I find that outside of the Raven faction, people don't tend to snipe (probably why Raven sucks so much on offense). Judging from that post, it seems unlikely that you've played Planetside (coordinated tank rushes and Gal drops FTW!). I think if MAG has a few months to sort itself out, the uncooperative people will either learn to actually play the game, or just leave. The end result is a smaller player base that actually plays the game the way it was designed to be played.

OT: Both. And for Mass Effect 2, get the PC version. Even if you hate the keyboard+mouse controls, just plug the X360 or PS3 controller into the PC and use that. If you have a decent PC, then the PC version can most likely outperform the X360 version.

Well, ask yourself, do I want a multi-player only game, or a good game?

Yeah, you know the answer to that.

Isn't MAG a PS3 exclusive? Anyhow they are completely different games. It's SP vs. MP.
