I usually end up being the archer/mage. Headshot with a fireball ftw.

Of the three, none really apply to me. I'm the knives guy. I'll vote Swordsman because that's the closest it gets of the three.

Swordsman FTW! But I have to be as good as Drizzt Do'Urden.
No one can be as awesome as he is.

Edit: OT, I'd have to be an Archer. While casting spells and swinging your sword around willy-nilly is fun, the old-fashioned bow and arrow is the most silent and therefore easier to kill without even really fighting.

I'm not really a fan of tanking, so I prefer attacking from afar. 90% of the time I'll choose archer. (I would actually love if more games had Hunters where you can have a pet to hold aggro)

I have a question:

Does the lvl 500 Ancient Silver Bow +10 with Fire Damage do anything more than 1 damage each hit?

Whenever I try archer I have to turn my enemies into a freaking pincushion before they die. Most pointless weapons ever.
Yeah, but in real life, I'm pretty sure you'd be incapacitated/dead if you were hit by an arrow.

But yeah, I hate it when games do that.

Archer, both in games and IRL. A good compound bow and a quiver of broad heads is my zombie survival plan.

As much as I like magic I don't find myself using it that much in RPG's. I went with archer since I find a certain satisfaction in headshots from a distance.

Also, I get the feeling that NeutralDrow will choose Archer for reasons obvious to him and me.

In absolutely any game that ever gave me the choice to do so, I always go WoW-style rogue. Daggers, poison, light armor, and stealth. In Fallout3, however, I'm just that short guy that hangs out with Fawkes

archer. If good you can kill many fast, and still have no damage for the long one. Also i am for the pure classes, but with slight amounts of variation. so kinda hypocritical.

It has to be the warrior I don't know why but cutting your way through a slew of enemies while stomping on their entrails and teabagging their mothers seems satisfying to me in a sick sort of way

I'll play a Mage, but not any mage: give me a debuffer. A Mesmer in GW. Let the rest of my team worry about your health going to zero, I want to make your Mana hit rock bottom, I want to watch you suffer every time you so much as move or stay still, I want you to take 30% of your health in damage for every spell you cast, make you slower than a turtle, make you cast twice as fast and interrupt your every spell.

I tend to be a sneaky swordsman. I'll stick to the shadows until I'm close enough to tear you a superfluous new behind.

I have never played as a mage in Oblivion, I always use a mix of archer and warrior. Archer for stealthy parts, warrior for when it all goes wrong.
Bingo. Same. Mage every now and again just for hilarity.

I am a stealthy Archer, I use stelth to creep up on my enemies and get the bonus dammage. I have Mage as my secondary, but mostly healing, so i can dish out the arrows and then just heal myself.

I don't play Oblivion but I suspect that I would play coward hiding behind cover class.

It always depends on the game (most games seem to make one awesome class and/or one worthless class) but to the extent possible, I like to be a jack of all trades. Typically I prioritize it as mage>warrior>archer/thief/stealth.

And I always, Always like to have good healing, support, and regeneration abilities regardless of what class they fall under. Same goes for any followers I may have.
