I personally like the newer borders because they are designed with a superior attention to usability, where as the old ones were more designed as filler. (black is the best argument for this, some black cards you couldnt even read or never knew had that additional mana cost)SL33TBL1ND said:I like the design more of the old cards, like the border and stuff, but the actual pictures I must admit are nicer in the new ones. I must say though that the older cards generally have better flavour text. Oh, and thank you.roger moores eyebrow said:Do you really think the old cards looked better? Sure a couple are pretty timeless but for the most part I think the art design has improved dramatically since then. Looks a lot more consistent these days. Props for a full set of urza, v impressive.SL33TBL1ND said:This household's been playing since the 90's when the cards looked much prettier and spells were better than creatures. Hell, I even have the full Urza set and 4 Enduring Renewals. On top of that, I have 6 full CC Binders as well as a suitcase and about 5 decks laying about as well as a bunch of random cards in boxes. So yeah, I play and I play hard.
I had an awesome mono white angel deck a while back surprisingly strong considering the mana curve. Similar to my tribal giants deck, people never expect it to be as fast as it is.Macgyvercas said:Indeed I do. I have four decks I use on a regular basis:
4) A red/black that gets more powerful when my hand is empty and is very fast to get onto the field
3) A blue/black based on a combonation of quickplay and necromancy
2) A green/red built solely around beatdown and trample
*pulls out favorite deck*
1) A white deck. These are my Angels. My name is Charlie.
And yes I have Akroma, Angel of Wrath in my White deck.
Yeah I wouldnt bother with the xbox version, very limited compared to true magic online.Rob Shogun said:Not as much as I used to and never online, thinking about getting the XBLA version when I can get some money together
I guess I just liked how the borders weren't definite, y'know? Everything is just a tad blocky for my tastes now.toapat said:I personally like the newer borders because they are designed with a superior attention to usability, where as the old ones were more designed as filler. The artwork on the other hand has been off and on forever, with newer artwork being of a higher quality, but visually not always being superior. alot of the Behemoths of Naya dont feel massive, where as the zendikar World Queller looks like it is the size of manhatten.
I agree, spells for blue are way too weak now.
