Between making you hungry as hell, affecting your brain and making your paranoid I don't really see and upside.

Before anyone says "but cigarattes are bad for you too and they're legal" I think they should be made illegal as well, but the government make way too much revenue from them to think about it.

ok, here's the thing. legal recreational drugs like cigarette don't affect your actions quite like say crystal meth would and alcohol can be used responsibly. You can't take cannabis responsibly your either high or not high and taking those drugs can effect your actions so that your reasonable judgment is impaired. Kinda like why drink driving is illegal except much less severe which is why the punishment is much less severe.

I hate this arguement. Mostly because I don't think it should exist. People should be strong enough to realize that Marijuana is bad for you and you're just as stupid to think its "Not Dangerous" or "Not addictive".

So the point is that Humans are bad and should feel bad.
Marijuana is not nearly as bad as alcohol. Smoking is worse then weed and the tobacco kills you when your 80. as long as you do it in moderation and not enough to fry your brain it should be fine. and while it is addictive, its not as dangerous as you think. The only reason Marijuana was banned was originally because of a toiler paper companys CEO.

Hi, I'm Canadian and I'm pretty sure it's legal to use it for medicinal purposes. Actually, my mom takes it in a pill form, yes she for a prescription and yes it's all very legal. The government even pays for it. She doesn't like to talk about it but as far as I know it's helped her condition a lot. (It's a rare disease where the receptors in her skin are very sensitive, and she always feels extremely itchy. I'm not quite sure how it works but I think it helps to numb those receptors.)

So my stance is that YES it should be legal for medicinal purposes as long as you get it prescribed by a doctor, and NO for recreational use by anyone.
i agree with you completely

i have no real awarness of marijuana but i do know someone who uses canabis and hes hooked, he was increadibly bright, but now his life is ruined. its very sad.

dont use drugs unless u actually need it for an illness like nocola says

if you know people using drugs it must be dealt with quickly!! and if they're hooked cut them out of ur life trust me it gets really bad.

Recreational cannabis use has been decriminalised in the Netherlands for years (although aspects of supplying it are I believe still illegal). Interestingly, the proportion of the Dutch population that are regular cannabis users in that country has declined since this was done. Not to say there aren't still significant problems regarding excessive use and criminal activity still present, though.

Prohibition failed to prevent alcohol intake in 1920s America, and it's failing to prevent use of cannabis, cocaine, heroin et al.[/] currently. As prohibition involves chucking a vast amount of police time, money and effort at what appears to be unstoppable, our societies should be very careful that it is the most effective policy, and there's a lot evidence that it might not be.

I think I'd need to know more about the argument for having it legalized. I know there are arguments for it, I just have no idea what they are.

My current standing is: Harmful drug = do not legalize.
Marijuana is not harmful you cannot overdose and it has no proven negative health effects
and it also has many positive health effects such as preventing certain types of tumors, curing glarcoma and curing eating disorders by stimulating apetite. one final thing. Marijuana isnt even addictive, sure it is habit forming and you can crave the feeling it gives you but it isnt addictive like cigarettes

Yes, we need even MORE drug addicts and high idiots.

This will solve every problem the world has - everyone, let's just get high...

Also, shows how it affects your mind - OP can't even write it correctly.

Lolol.

Not harmful... Yeah, except for the addiction. And yeah, you can't overdose, your body will expel it - I.E. vomit.

Why the hell is everyone talking about addiction...it's not goddamn addictting man, I've been smoking the stuff for years...Now I moved to another country and I don;t know anyone and I haven't smoked pot in 6 months and I miss it but I don't feel the NEED to smoke it...Back when I was home I smoked it everyday, cause it was close to me, now that it's no longer close to me, I'm just fine. I don't go out of ny way to find myself a pot dealer. But I will find one heheh...'cause I love weed. It's the best thing you could ever smoke. So yeah, I want it to be legal...everyone smokes it anyway, my dad smoked it a few times and he liked it, it chills him out, my mum smoked it and she got really paranoid and didn't like it.

Alcohol is far more harmful then cannabis and causes far more deaths per year. Do you want to make that illegal as well?

first rule of commerce
supply and demand
if its profitable, people would deal in it
if you make it illegal, only criminals would profit from it
make it legal, you have quality control, taxation and you take the profit from the criminals

It should be regulated i.e. no sales before 4pm or something - Its nice to use recreationally but if it was legal it would be abused(more) without a doubt.

Productivity would fall as a whole.

I don't drink or smoke but enjoy the tax revenues my state gets from drinkers and smokers so I am pro legalization.

They tried, they called it Prohibition and it worked wonders especially if you were Sicilian.

I think all drugs should be legalised. It shouldn't be up to someone else to decide what's healthy for you. If you take drugs and die, then it's yr own fault - it's not on anyone else.

On one hand i think it should be legal because then it can be moderated and it also takes away the appeal of doing something "naughty" and so takes the psychological thrill of taking drugs because they're bad away. And like people have said the drug is more mild compared to that of alcohol however prolonged use can still pretty much mess up with neurons and cause paranoia, it can help the onset of paranoid schizophrenia. However the drug is also used to treat chronic pain and catatonic schizophrenia.
But on the other hand it does have prolonged damage but then again some prescribed drugs have the same problem. In all honesty there is no real right or wrong answer because its like abortion people have different opinions and views and there is scientific evidence for both sides.

I think it should be. I am not a user myself, but it would really be good for the economy. And would it really be any worse than what tobacco companies have done?
well tobacco kills you at a somewhat slow pace.

marajuana does the same thing, except it can kill you quicker,is more addicting, and makes you act like a moron and break things, plus it makes you like starving man.
Erm... cannabis is not physically addictive, whereas tobacco is. And tobacco will kill you faster.

Where in hell's name are you getting your facts from?
