I just watched some of his music videos and I've reached two possibilities:

1.) He's a hilarious guy who's pretty kool.

2.) A total mental case.

Which do you guys think it is?

He's nuts, but crazy people amuse me.
EDIT: and a lot of his songs are just awesome. "Rock is Dead", "The Beautiful People" etc.

He's crazy, but in a good way. He makes great music. Look at their former guitarist John 5, he's made some really fucked up videos, but he's a perfectly sane and nice human being as well.

The only thing real about Marilyn Mason is his marketing and promotion team..

Having said that I dig him, he is a great shadow of Shock Rockers past and his song arn't that bad.

I don't like his music very much, but I'd say he's actually fairly intelligent. Also, his band named themselves creatively, all their first names are names of models, and their second of serial killers hense Marilyn Manson.

I don't care for him myself, but I have nothing against him. That said, he scared the crap out of me when I was small.

I've never heard of him before, but can't he be funny and crazy at the same time.?
Also your post count is at 1337, so my advice is to stop it here and die happy.

His music's good, but looking at his face, he's probably on the crazy side. That and because he's made his drummer suffer like 3-5 major injuries now for very little reason.

"Tries too hard" is more appropriate.
Sometimes it's funny, especially if all you have to do is say you like his music to piss off some hard core religious people.
OTOH you can tell the "crazy" is attention whoring in the extreme.

As for his music, I generally like his covers, but Heart-Shaped Glasses,Running To The Edge of the World, and Nobodies are the only original songs that I like.

Call me crazy but when I want gothy feelings in my music I trend towards Muse or Sisters of Mercy.

Ummm, he would be really crazy if he was serious about this stuff.

Argggg, I wish I had noticed earlier! At this point I've posted two more. Dammit, at least I could have shown some people.

He's a terrible musician, but an excellent business man and marketer.
He certainly knows how to appeal to the insecure social outcasts who think he actually gives a shit about their parent's divorce with his 'deep' and 'meaningful' lyrics. He doesn't. But he does like it when you buy his CDs and tickets to his concerts.

Smart guy. Not musically talented.

He's obviously very intelligent, but one must admit that he is quite odd. It also seems he's influenced by Alice Cooper in ways, but I prefer Alice's music myself, and I find Marilyn kinda meh most of the time. He has decent stuff, but not really a fan.
