If the delay actually results in better game, why not. But we wont know that until the release, will we...

You know, it would be awesome if everyone was satisfied with the change. For example, if their "appeal to the masses", referenced a decision to add on a multiplayer aspect to the game. An online team death match would could be awesome, imagine if each race had its' own strengths, weaknesses and strategic value/powers.

Multiplayer for the masses and un-raped single player for the fans. Everybody wins... maybe

No, and the existence of this poll makes me weep, Absurd speculation based on ridiculous exaggeration.

Only on the Escapist could people Take a single sentence said at a business conference for investors, not gamers, and run with it until they're convinced that Mass Effect 3 is "doomed".

There are niether enough palms nor faces.
This. The Mass Effect franchise is developed by a different team to the Dragon Age one anyway, so all this exaggeration is completely unfounded.

If you haven't heard Mass Effect 3 was delayed, and further more it got delayed by EA since they "want to make it for a larger market"

Am i the only who reads this statement as "EA told us to do this or we get the whip again"

Honestly I'm now convinced EA is going to make bioware turn ME3 into "Mass Effect: Future warfare" and it will lose any chance of being the epic ending fans have been waiting years for.

But thats my opinion whats yours
You're convinced? How can you possibly keep a straight face while reading this much into such an incredibly simple statement? Jesus Christ the lengths you people will go to in order to prove how cool you are and how much you hate EA are fucking ridiculous.

They said they were trying to broaden the appeal to their shareholders when they were announcing its delay. All they're doing is spinning things so shareholders don't get upset. This is marketing trying to cover up a normal development delay.

My guess is more outfits that show off the tittays. Maybe assless chaps for male shepard. That, or Garrus had to do a few more calibrations, could you give him a minute?

Just throwing this out there, mass effect 2 has been out for a year and four months.
I think it's just companies doing there thing, you know, when they try to make more money.

Will people please stop fucking judging things before they fucking come out! No one is an omnipotent being who can see all future things as they will be so why do so many act like they can?

Fuck it! You know what? I'm declaring that the year, hmmm, 2023 will suck. Why? What is my justification for this? Nothing! I just fucking say it will so eat a dick.

God I hate where the fans of this industry are going. What happened to optimism?

What the announcement really means is that they think it will sell better in early 2012 than it would in late 2011.

Why? Less competition.

I don't mind a delay if it makes things better. I suspect it's more about having a wider field. FallWinter 2011 was getting pretty crowded with AAA titles...

EA meaning to "tweak the game for a larger market" may sound bad, knowing how they tend to aim their marketing. But no, Mass Effect 3 is not doomed. This is a BioWare game we're talking about, you know.

Also, Skyrim comes out in November, if I'm not mistaken. I suppose it would be a bad deal to release ME3 in the same season.

I have yet to play a bioware game I didn't love.
EA didn't ruin DA2, so I see no reason to believe they will manage to ruin ME3.

*Sigh* That was not a press release, it was something for the Share Holders so it probably mans nothing, except for an excuse so ME3 doesn't have to compete with all the highly anticipated games.
Well I'd say ME3 is also a highly anticipated game so I kinda doubt that's the reason.:p

Like all Mass Effects I don't care, however it seems Bioware have been alienating there fan-base in order to gain more larger audience, this can have the chance of fucking up, however it can work in there favour, at the end of the day, we decide if we want a game not them, if by the time it comes out and you don't want it, don't buy it, if you do go for it.

Unfounded isnt the word.

I see EA, i cringe, i see EA say their doing something for their reasons i worry. If it was under almost anyone else id shrug and say "whatever" but this is EA, the bastards that they are

Don't get yourself worked up over it, it isn't worth the hassle. Wait until we have some actual information about the game. It was a vague statement taken out of context, and it was directed to investors. This debate shouldn't even be going on.
